Feeling Aggravated!
I started the week hoping it would have been better than the way last week ended! Last week I finish another post to my website and published it and then I head over to Google Search Console and request it to be crawled. Well to my surprise I couldn't log in to my GSC "WHY!!??" I keep getting this error and I went over to try and get help from Site Support and still have not had luck.
I usually have really good luck dealing with them and the issue gets corrected in a timely manner "not this time"! I went through all the steps I was instructed to do "or at least I believe I did them correctly" and still no luck.
I can access all other items like my Google Analytics 4 and my all my other Google accounts. Just when I thought I was getting a good fluent motion I get knocked down again. I even tried to uninstall my Google Site Kit from the plugins and reinstall it and that was NOT helpful either. This is just getting very frustrating to me because I just can't get my head around this because I am computer illiterate.
Well I am going to get back to work and please keep your fingers crossed for me that I get it figured sooner than later so I can be productive. Thanks again WA world for listening to me vent over the matter and hope you all have a wonderful day.

Hi - did you use a Gmail address to set up Console?
If so, that's the email address you need to use, not your domain-specific one.
I am trying to figure how to change it to be certain. I created a shortcut on my desktop so I would just click it in the past. I tried to make it easy for my dummy self and I still screwed it up lol.

This happened to me a few times as well, I have three different Gmail addresses and when logging in to my Youtube account, it sets it to automatically log in on that particular Gmail address, while it is a different one than the GSC account. It was frustrating to find this out in the beginning as well.
So I really do think this might be it indeed.
If you were advised to clear your cache...I think you were. Then, you must sign back into the Chrome browser with the profile for GSC.
Hello, Kevin. I am sorry that you are frustrated. I, too, have been dealing with this daily. My problem is related to multiple email addresses through Google Chrome Browser.
I can't see from your posted screenshot, but is the profile icon for Chrome the same email address you are trying to get into the GSC?
If not, log into Chrome browser with the email address you initially signed up with to get into the GSC.
Regards, Matt
Hey Kevin,
Your Google Search Console is also attached to the email address you are logged into your computer with.
So, if you only have one email address then this is definitely the Google Search Console that is attached to your website.
See in your first screenshot, on the left-hand side just underneath the words "Google Search Console" there's a box with "search property", which also has a dropdown menu.
Click on the little triangle to the right-hand side of that box and you should get a dropdown menu of every website connected to that Google Search Console account.
If you see your website name/url just click on that and you will be able to enter your account and the main stats page.
Make sense?
Partha
If I do the above step and click on my website from the drop down menu I get this message!
Thanks,
Kevin and Son
Okay,
I remember having to add that same code to what's known as the Domain "Zone Editor", but this was with a domain registrar, Namecheap. so we had full access to the editor.
Here at WA we don't, so that would be something SiteSupport would be able to do.
BUT
Ever since most of now use SiteKit to "one-click" install GSC there's no requirement to do the above.
As I mentioned above, and as DIane has said, your Google Search Console account will be attached to the email address that you "set it up with". Do you have more than one email address?
If so, are you definitely logged in on the same email address as the one that you ORIGINALLY created that Google Search Console account with?
I believe you said that GSC was working fine a few days back, but you "can't get access".
So, is it possible you're currently logged into your computer with a different email address?
If not, then you can either try unistalling SIteKit and installing it again, and then going through the Google Search Console set up all over again.
OR
I know you've said you're dealing with them, but not getting much joy, but can SiteSupport shed any light of the DNS records needing to be updated with the GSC code?
You can also ask Kyle, perhaps send him a link to THIS BLOG POST on his profile and ask if he can please help.
So, steps you can take:
1) Check which email address you're currently logged in with, does this correspond to the same email address you opened that GSC account?
THEN
2) Start the whole process over again, should take less than 30 minutes. So, uninstall/deactivate SiteKit (this does mean you will also have to set up Google Analytics again as well, so sure, I get it, this is a pain in the ***). Then reinstall SiteKit again, and add the GSC and GA properties with the correct email address. And then within 48 hours both should providing data again.
OR
3) Speak to SiteSupport about whether they can place the GSC code on the Domain Zone Editor?
AND
4) Escalate to Kyle

This won't affect anything from my website that has been found in Google will it?
Thanks,
Kevin and Son
No,
Your website has already been "found" and the articles are already indexed.
So, Google is already aware of your site.
Therefore, nothing you HAVE ALREADY DONE is affected in any way at all, it's all good.
The only thing being, once you deactivate and uninstall the SiteKit plugin, then your GSC (including your sitemap) and GA are "no longer connected".
BUT
When you reinstall and activate your SiteKit again you MUST go through the entire setting up process fo Google Search Console (and your Sitemap) and Google Analytics all over again.
Treat it as though it's the first time you're doing it, so everything you did the first time around.
Then once set up and your sitemap is submitted again, everything "returns to normal" and you will start seeing stats again within 48 hours.
The only issue is that you may lose a couple of days traffic stats.
Worst case scenario is that you lose all the previous traffic stats, this STILL DOESN'T affect your website in any way, it just means that you won't hve records f how much traffic you've had in previous months/years (this SHOULDN'T happen, but just pre-warning you if it does).
BUT
As I say, your website, and the articles, are already indexed, and perhaps ranking, therefore NONE of this affects what has already gone before on your website, i.e. once Google is "aware" of your site, they will ALWAYS be aware of your site from then on, it's just that having a sitemap set up makes it easier for the "Google Bots/Spiders" to "crawl" your website. A sitemap provides navigation for the Google crawlers.
But it is perfectly feasible to run a website without GSC and GA, but it just makes more sense to have them installed (there are many, many, many, webmaster who don't use these Google tools, they will use indexing request tools, another analytics and traffic tracking tool, etc. )
So, NO, having these issues is not actually affecting your site currently AT ALL, I know, it's just a massive pain and you'd rather everything was working normally.
So, yep, go ahead, uninstall and deactivate and the go through the entire set up process again for BOTH GSC and GA. Setting Up Search Console & Analytics with Google Site Kit Partha
Hope this is the last question Partha I know I am a bit much! After I deactivated the Site Kit plugin and uninstalled it I reinstalled it and it automatically connected with my existing Google account.
Do I need to create a whole new Google account or is the existing one ok to continue to use?
Thanks,
Kevin and Son
Hey Kevin,
To be honest, I actually think it's the FIRST thing I said above and what Diane has also mentioned.
Obviously, I don't want to patronize you, but you do always say that you're not very "tech-minded".
I honestly think it is simply because you are currently logged into your computer under a different email address.
This being the case, all you would have to is log into YOUR COMPUTER with the right email address and we would be sorted in less than 10 seconds.
Okay, in your first screenshot you are logged into Google Searh Console with the EMAIL ADDRESS
kevin@outdooractivitieskids.com
I am pretty sure you DID NOT create your Google Search Console account using THAT email address, but rather your GMAIL EMAIL ADDRESS
BBUT TRY THIS FIRST
Something else to quickly try is on the top RIGHT-HAND SIDE of Google Search Console there will probably be a Big K (for Kevin) in a circle.
Click on that K and it should reveal a dropdown menu with ANOTHER EMAIL ADDRESS.
Click on that email address and a new tab will open with a fresh Google Search Console account.
Then go to the TOP LEFT-HAND SIDE and once again click on SEARCH PROPERTY and this SHOULD reveal your website's domain name.
CLICK on that and then you should be logged directly into your CORRECT Google Search Console account.
I'm about 99.999999% sure this is ALL you have to do.
You see, if you deactivate and uninstall GSC and then set it all up again it will be set up with the email address you are currently logged into YOUR COMPUTER with, which appears to be
kevin@outdooractivitieskids.com
BUT
As I say, I actually think that you originally set up SiteKit and GSC and GA with your
GMAIL EMAIL ADDRESS
So, if you do set up SiteKit again it will be set up under a NEW email address, this one
kevin@outdooractivitieskids.com
BUT, let's try this first:
So, if you haven't done anything with SiteKit yet, try clicking the "K in the circle on the right-hand side" and see if it "reveals" ANOTHER email address, if so, click on that, and we're in.
Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere, we'll keep trying stuff and we'll get it sorted out TODAY!
Partha
Thank you I am not giving up its just another lesson to learn!
Thanks again,
Kevin and Son
