How To Create A Simple Funnel System
First you need a capture / squeeze page.
This should be kept very simple, a captivating headline.
Followed by an enticing couple of lines about how your
service or product will address their problem or concern.
Next you need a form to input their name and email address.
That is all there should be on your squeeze page.
Do not give away to much info at this time. Only enough
for them to know that you are leading them in the right
direction for what they want.
Above all else be upfront and honest.
Then you need a landing page to give them something of value.
The landing page is or could be a thank you page with your
downloadable gift for them signing up with you. This page
is also a great place to offer more. Could be an unannounced
bonus for one of your trainings. Could be valuable information
dealing with their issue or concern. You can also use this as
an opportunity to introduce your services as an option.
You will need an AutoResponder, you can get the form and
capture page and even a landing page if you like right from
your AutoResponder system. The AutoResponder will be
filled with your email followup letters.
These you will need to write yourself, however initially you can
start very small, seven to ten letters distributed over a period
of about 2 weeks. DO NOT try to sell in these initial letters.
This series should be used to build a relationship with your
subscriber. Talk to them as if they are your friend, they will be!
Try to make your letters sound personal, as if they are the only
one you are speaking to, this helps to make them comfortable.
And remember, Give, Give then Give some more. Earn their
trust get to know them and what they believe they want.
Give them only good valuable information and recommendations.
Then you can lead them to what they need to improve their life.
That is when the promoting begins and the residual income grows.
Remember, Success is the Journey not the Destination.

I have done that as well - I just like everything LeadPages has to offer - ease of creations and especially all the conversion information and split testing you can do
Yep - everything you need - tons of templates - you can even import your own, conversion tracking, split testing - they now have lead boxes and lead links for capturing optins on your site.
The other cool thing is they are always testing the conversion on their landing pages and each time it gets better your landing page template automatically up dates - very cool
If you do webinars you can even have your landing page grab the optin and automatically register them with your webinar provider - it even is integrated with facebook

I like the idea of having a series ready to go that you can "drip feed" to your subscribers. Can you define "Squeeze page". I've seen this term a million times and I'm still not clear on what squeeze page refers to.
A squeeze page is the same as a landing page - it is one page designed to have the visitor do one action and one action only - capture peoples email addresses
I would call it an email capture page. You offer a "free gift" to download in exchange for their email address. What is great about this approach is you are adding value in your relationship with the customer. As we all know the money is in the list..
Squeeze refers to you sqeezing the name and email
address from someone. A capture page is the same thing.
The landing page can be a thank you page or your home
page on your site you decide that. It can be a sales page
