Soo-o long! fare thee well
hey hi WA amazers & imagineers ! ...
bye, bye, so long, it's the holidays ...
Soo-o long -- good friend and companion!
Good bye and Fare Thee Well ...
played the last song ...
here's a story ..
from just last week ...
... had a cosmic catch-up lunch with a good friend and business associate of many years...
We both delighted on burgers and endless fries if you can believe that! ...
Well, the conversation went like this:
yak, yak, yak, yakketty- yak ...
and the conversation turns to the holiday gifts and more gifts this season ...
gifts galore of goodness, health, wealthy, happiness, generosity, good company of friends & family, so much loveliness in our lives -- we are truly the most fortunate of all .....
when Suddenly, we looked at each other in mid-sentence ...
'keyboard!' we both yelped in synchronicity (at the same time) ... and then looked at each other -- uhm ...
well, as it happens, i said, ' I've got one sitting in storage -- in mint condition and still with its original packaging ... and an assembled stand as well ... '
a fabulous Yamaha digital keyboard complete and only played with gloves on --
it's in absolute pristine condition! (like most of my stuff -- stuff that is!)
all ready to be re-homed and enjoyed all over again --- making music!
generosity of heart makes the world go around better, does it not?
Well, there's an underlying principle here as well -- one that I observe & respect --
Most of you are all well-read and may be familiar with Shakespeare's Hamlet -- where Polonius says to his son, " never be a lender nor a borrower be...."
now what was exactly meant by that saying ... ? what happens to the lender or borrower? ... it's a worry on either end, isn't? ... ponder about that for a bit ...
Good-bye keyboard ! ... off to a new good home for you ! ... without strings or conditions! .. simply given with a happy, glad heart! ...
Well, folks, consider what you've got hidden in away in storage or in that back closet that someone else may find useful and precious for this holiday season! ... and give it away! ..
(or can sell it also ... lighten up your cares / burdens) ...
it's liberating to give things away and makes the heart feel so much better ... :)
... alas, help me say good-bye and fare thee well to the ivories (keyboard) ...

I agree - am doing something similar with books in pristine condition. Many of them were bought as part of a set because the whole set didn't cost much more than one or two individual books would have cost. But I don't actually need all of them.
