1-Week Old Website: 19 Clicks, 3 Ordered Items. Go Amazon!
Hey guys,
This post will contain both the question and the success story aspect.
It's been a while since I dealt with Amazon stuff. I decided to create a new website here at WA solely based on Amazon products and I saw that 3 items have been ordered from Amazon.
I can't recall exactly but does that mean that I will only see the exact amount of my commissions once these items get shipped?
Only two things do not get paid on Amazon, it's wine and Amazon gift cards, which were not in the list of ordered items.
Now to the success story part.
My new website has been up for only a few days and it already started working.
Man, I forgot how it feels to get items ordered from Amazon!
Even though I receive my residual commissions from Wealthy Affiliate, I am still glad to be done solving some personal matter and being fully back in the business :)
I will work my butt off to make this site work for me full-time.

I used to wondér the same thing. Then I realized they only pay once the items are shipped. They will also debit your account for any returned items.

Excluded Products
Notwithstanding the above, the following items and services are currently excluded from the Products included in the Associates Program:
(a) any product or service sold on a site linked to from the Amazon Site (for example, a product or service listed through our “Product Ads” program or sold on a site linked to from a banner ad, sponsored link, or other link displayed on the Amazon Site),
(b) any wireless service plan offered through the Amazon Site and not sold or fulfilled by us,
(c) any application, content, or other software sold through the Amazon Appstore,
(d) any product sold on fresh.amazon.com or primenow.amazon.com,
(e) any food prepared and delivered from a restaurant,
(f) any alcoholic beverage,
(g) any digital Kindle product purchased as a subscription (e.g., Kindle newspaper subscriptions, magazine subscriptions, blog subscriptions, etc.),
(h) any product or service which has been excluded by a third party seller or vendor. You will receive an alert if a product or service is excluded when attempting to link using the tools we make available in Associates Central, and
(i) any product or service sold through Amazon Pay Places or Prime Wardrobe.
I believe these items ordered do not apply to any of the categories that you've mentioned. So I just gotta wait until they get shipped and then I will see the exact earnings made from my new website
You can calculate what your commission will be. Just click on the fee schedule and find the category the items purchased fall under.
I have attached a screen shot of the Amazon.com fee schedule. I think most are using this one now. You can find the tab just under the reports tab when you are in reports.

The items got shipped the next day, so I didn't have to wait tooo much to see my commissions. Yay
Also, I wanted to calculate but wasn't sure which category exactly the items fell into.
That's great! I refer to the fee schedule often when something gets ordered from a category I am not familiar with and I am curious about the commission.

Congrats, and to answer your question - you are correct you only get your commission once the items have been shipped.
The items got shipped and now I can see my commissions! Yay
