The most important day of your life

The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.

This quote is often credited to Mark Twain, but there is plenty of evidence that Twain had nothing to do with the quote.

What matters is the meat of the quote not who created it or said it first.

A lot of people love babies. They are cute (when they are not crying), cuddly and are innocent. They are precious little humans with everything in life before them. They will be able to explore and create and become.

Their birth—our births—are one of the most important days of our lives.Why?

According to the quote, the other most important day in your life is when you find out why.

Some people never find out the why and that is extremely sad. Living without purpose can't be easy.

Even though I have fought against it, I have known my "why" for a long time.

It happens to be the "why" for so many people, even if they don't realize it or want to accept it.

That "why", as elusive as it may appear, is abundantly clear when we open our eyes to it.

For me, the "why" boiled down to helping other people.

There is an old joke that goes something like this:

The young man went to the old sage to ask what he was on earth for.

The old sage looked the young man over and said that he was on the earth to help other people.

The young man, being a bit of a smart aleck said, "Well, what are the other people for then?"

It makes people laugh, but this kind of goes back to what I wrote about the other day and what FrankB-1 highlighted: "We need each other."

It sounds somewhat sappy, but we do need each other, some are here to help another in one way and others are here to help us in a way we need.

By doing my business I hope to help people. I hope they will feel helped.
