Well, I've prepared many resumes in my professional life but never have I been asked to write a personal profile...this will be interesting.

When you offer site comments, are you seeing the same 6-7 articles show up over and over? There HAS to be more members submitting articles, pages, posts and blogs to be comment

Remember with site comments you can accumulate a bunch of credits and ask for many comments so yes you will see them over and over. And I guess they stay live until the requisite number of comments are received.

And many people are certainly more prolific than me so more of their posts will show up. Just keep passing them by until you find those you want to comment on.

And get really prolific yourself so you too can garnish heaps of comments.

Good advice, Helen...thank you.

For me it is not frustration. It's about using a different format to improve on what already works. I propose comments be separated by time. It works using two tabs like this: You have an initial request tab for comments-easy enough.

A 2nd tab for those repeating a request for comments on the same post. Whereby it is understood that the request here are solely for lack of comment responses.

This tab cannot be abused by repeatedly submitting a request for the same post. A post can be resubmitted after a waiting time period?....?

Where it will be noted that this is a resubmission; indicating this post needs help because of a severe lack of comments.

This is a proposal off the top of my head. In response to this question. And basing on the family atmosphere in this community.

I ask now for any member who can add or offer input to build on this proposal to do so that this community collectively can affect some positive change.

Of course all this would have to based on what are enough comments that satisfies Google search?

Side note: I have thick skin, so I can take criticism or a direct no to this. It will just build my character.

Hi,
I believe that there is a system in place similar to what you are recommending. If you are requesting multiple comments at the same time, you may choose to have those comments separated by 7 days. You just have to select the option. I believe that is a recent change because I did not notice it until recently.

My intent is to let those who want to leave comments to know, how they are helping. I think this will generate more participation. Will you direct me to this other option?

Hello, Maurice...Please read Helen's response above and MBond's response below. We can already do this but only if we've earned 4 or more credits.
If you've earned 2 credits, your request for 1 site comment automatically pops up for visitors to respond to.
If you've earned 4 or more credits, a box will appear asking how many comments you are requesting and you're given a choice: immediately, evenly over the next 7 days or evenly over the next 21 days.

It depends on what you have 'checked' off for topic options to choose from. If you only checked off a couple, you won't get many choices for what to comment on.
Go back and select more options, then there will be more of a variety.

Will do...thanks

I thought about using it again earlier this week, but after spending several days researching and writing a 5k+ word article, it felt like doing my work a disservice to put it up for the usual one line "Great article, I learned so much from it. Love the site" effort - the sort of copy&paste; platitude my anti-spam plugin would bin coming from any other source.

So I just left it, let it attract organic, meaningful, and most importantly, feedback and engagement from people who actually read it and have a real opinion.

I think that's the better option...IF you're getting enough organic traffic. I'm not quite there yet. Fingers crossed
I only comment on sites that I have knowledge and interest in. The comments I leave are my own thoughts...nothing canned, copied or pasted (for what it's worth).

I concur with your point, better left it with real comment from real visitors.

Realistically, I wrote about three comments and was abandoned since September. 2016. One thing is that you can't be to truthful and critical, because some people will rub the wrong way and jump to their own conclusion.

Another thing is that you do not get to comment again. To this it limits your ability to gain more credits.

Instead of being critical, I ask constructive questions worded in a way to make them think about their content. Sometimes it's tough though. haha

I know Karen, I guess everyone has clear and precise views. It will be alright. We must not let site comments get us down.

My theory is that alot of people simply do not write blog posts very often, and out of those that do not everyone uses site comments.

I think you could be right. But those same people will be writing plenty blog posts within WA, telling you how to write good blog posts :)

True, but people also submit other pages such as product reviews. Using site comments creates a little traffic which Google notices, so I think it's worth the time and effort.

Seems as if we are not submitting often enough. I fall in that bracket because I need to offer more comments to get some myself. I am way behind with this.

I've been a victim of this myself. It does take time to read 2 requests and write meaningful comments BUT it does show Google that you get traffic and that's worth it.

Yeah, I need to get going. I wanted to offer comments 2 days ago, but because they were the same ones, I didn't. Then l did some on the "Give and Take Comment Thread," but only got few back. I am very disappointed when comments favor is not returned.

Hi, Karen! If you are checking out SiteComments one day and the articles start to appear again and again, and you still want more comments, you could also try this post: Some days a lot of people are using SiteComments and there are a lot of posts, but some days just a few people are using it and there are only a few articles (6 – 7 articles as you mentioned).

Thanks for the suggestion, Henry...I'll give it a try.

You’re welcome. It has worked for me. Best wishes!

You are not alone. I've submitted a few comments, but only a few bothered to come back, which I think it's really not on.

I noticed repeats the last time I used it, not sure why.

Randy
