Well, I feel defeated
Work real life has sucked massively. It's the biggest stressor in my life right now, and I want to quit, and I want to know what to do with my life so much. I felt so confident coming into WA, but I'm struggling with content so much. I didn't think I would, but having to find keyword searches that rank well to title posts so that it ties to what I'm interested in writing is ...ugh. I want to do more reviews and walk throughs but working on the one for Settlers of Catan right now, it's so photo rich, and the HTML is messing up the visual editor and it's taking soooo much longer than anticipate (though I think going forward I'll write the piece then HTML in the images separately)
But I already feel so defeated. I feel like I've lost everything already and I've barely started. UGH
I feel like it wouldn't be as hard if I was signed up as an affiliate with amazon or something already, but I started into it and it felt confusing so I figured I should wait until the certification gets me there, but I find my self hesitating on writing things because I'm like 'but this could link to this for purchasing but I don't want to do that until I'm signed up...'

Wow, I feel incredibly loved everyone. I was fully geared up for a barrage of 'get over it or you'll fail' type comments, and instead was pleasantly shocked at the responses I've gotten.

You, my friend, are a brave woman just for admitting that here. In my experience, self-doubt does get in m way so I actively monitor my thinking. That being said, I just took 2 weeks away from WA to review all the previous lessons I've completed and bought a WordPress book for reference which helped greatly. WA does a fantastic job but the book gives insight...and here I am again back at it! Making changes and feeling hopeful about the whole process again. You CAN do this! We aren't here because we know what we're doing. It's a process and it takes time. Believe in yourself
I bought 'the idiot's guide to blogging' lol Maybe I should read through there a bit today. ^_^ Thank you, I will push forward today and see what I can get done. ^_^
Look, Amazon signed me up as an affiliate just last week with my new website, totally not finished or well written or very good, etc., etc., but indexed (just a total surprise to me!), so at least take another chance on signing up as an Amazon affiliate. All they'll do is say no. I've had no said to me lots of times, just plow on! Next time they'll say yes. I'm a beginner and all the comments in that lesson in course 3 were about how Amazon had to see traffic etc on your site to sign you up. There was NO traffic on my site then and hasn't been any yet either! Just keep at it!
And stop worrying about the content, just a few words in a blog and a picture, add another page, do some reviews, all with images, nothing has to be perfect. And GET SOME FRIENDS TO ACCESS YOUR WEBSITE and leave comments (nice comments) and Google and Amazon will see you are getting traffic.

I've been hesitant to get people to view the site because I'm afraid of how it looks to the people in the niche...lol but as I type that I realize just how stupid that really is, because they'll be the ones most likely to be able to help me out. My anxiety just gets really high and sometimes I don't have the toughest of skins and I take things to heart really easily. I appreciate your comments, thank you.
These are the natural bumps and valleys that we all have as we are learning a business or growing our businesses.
It is fighting through times like this that lots of people are unwilling to do, which leads to obvious failure whereas those that persevere during times like this are able to achieve success...often times at extraordinary levels.
Take a step back, take a few breaths and try not to overcomplicate things. If you need any specific help as you move forward just ask and we will be happy to help you out. :)

One of the things that has greatly encouraged me has been to review other WA members websites. One of the early websites was written my a person who is fighting depression. Her research was great, but even greater was that she opened her heart online in a constructive and wise manner. I very much appreciated her willingness to fight this battle up front. Great stuff.
It sounds to me that you would also like to simply write. We all get the challenge of uncovering the keywords. This is very valuable, but sometimes the best things written just flow. Sometimes I write my post and then I look for keywords. I put them in if they fit, if not, well at least I enjoyed writing my post...
Back to the WA websites: I continue to be amazed at the quality of work, willingness to share and kindness that our friends here on WA continue to offer.
Thank you for this. I should spend more time leaving feedback on other websites so I can eventually get more on mine. And you're right, I should focus on writing then see what keywords would work best. (Assuming I still even understand how the keyword thing works, haha!)
