I recently recommended something from one of my pages to a friend of mine and she purchased it through my affiliate link but the sale was never registered in my affiliate accou
In Affiliate marketing it happens due to so mant technical problem. you can not blame company, software or payment gatway for this. If it happens you have to bear it.
Good luck for future.
What was the affiliate program that this was tied to.
Affiliate Commissions are tied to cookies, so if your friend deleted their cookies before joining, if they went to another computer and joined, or if they went on to do more research and ended up going through another affiliate link and buying you wouldn't have gotten credit for the sale.
Could any of those have been a possibility?
I'd rather not mention the name of the affiliate program here but I know without a doubt that she went from my link directly to the website. The link I had does have my link in the url but when the page opens up, it asks the user to accept the use of cookies and redirects to a page that no longer has the link in the url.
She had some trouble figuring out how to add items to the cart and navigated through a couple pages from the same website to get it there but she did end up buying the program after being sent there from my website.

Made a sale through my affiliate link that program refuses?

I had a friend use my affiliate link to check out a product. Then he returned to the website using the website's URL (not my affiliate link) but he used a different browser. No commission (◕︵◕)
I know that wasn't the case this time :( and it's just frustrating. I'm 4 months in and I've been putting quite a bit of time and effort into creating high quality content. Seeing this makes me wonder if it's possible that some affiliate programs purposely don't pay affiliates for some of their referrals because how in the world are we going to know about it?
I've been having a lot harder time with my blog lately since I took on two full time jobs and I'm starting to wonder if it's really worth it. What are the chances that it'll ever yield a return?
