5 Month Update
Ok, so I'm not exactly 5 months in yet but I will be by the end of next week. I'm just so excited at how much things have exploded lately that I wanted to post an update for all of you.
I posted about two months ago saying traffic was increasing and it was. It was still lower than I hoped for though and most of it came from social networks.
Over the last couple weeks Google has been sending me more and more traffic. So much that about 60-70% of my visitors are from Google and the traffic I'm getting today is 5-6 times more than I was getting just one month ago.
Every time I log in I can't believe it! When it first happened, I thought it was a fluke and that traffic would go down the next day. It hasn't and has only increased every week.
My bounce rate is still quite low and has actually been getting smaller as my traffic grows. Hopefully a good thing :)
My email subscribers are steadily increasing and everything is really starting to pick up.
I'm happy to say that for the first time next month I will be profitable. I'll earn more from my websites than I'm putting into them. It's taken me 5-6 months to get there and so much patience but it's been well worth it.
I picked a niche that I honestly enjoy writing about and felt like I had a lot to offer to others.
I did hit a wall at four months where I literally thought I hated my blog because it's hard work! It was taking up so much of my time and, with 3 kids it's even harder! I know though that every blogger hits this and for me I hit it right before all of the successes I listed above.
I'm so happy I pushed through it and would encourage anyone else that is struggling to keep going and don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it!
I wish you all the best of luck and encourage you to keep pushing through!

That is very encouraging. I would love to make enough to quit my job and do this full time. Thank you for your story.
I didn't even join with the intention of quitting my job someday down the road. I just wanted to have extra income so I wouldn't need to be working two full time jobs. I'm not there yet, but I'm very hopeful that I'll be there in the next couple months! After all the successes I've seen with my blog and other people here I know it really is possible to get to a point where you can quit your (or both of them if you have two). It might take a year or more, but if you're willing to put in the work and effort, the rewards are more than you can imagine!
