Hi,

My yearly subscription is up for renewal on December 1, 2018. I would like to switch from a yearly payment option to a monthly payment option but I'm not able to do

On the other hand, if you change your mind, you have 4 hours left to take advantage of the $299 deal!

I know you're running out of time to do this. I will tell you what I've seen other people say here.

Send a private message to Kyle and to Carson. They will help you out with this.

I tried to find the answer for you, but the only option that I have is to cancel my membership. I understand that is not what you want to do.

Good luck!

Hi Judith -- good question -- normally, of course, we would go to Account Settings>>Subscription Settings>>follow & complete the prompts for billing, membership, payment ...

suggest in your case, send a pm to kyle with your query for solution ...

... all the best ... 😊

How can I change my wa yearly subscription to a monthly subscription?

Glad you got this fixed Judith!

All sorted. It looks like all I had to was add the PP page to the menu under Appearance even though it was showing as being under the menu. Confusing!

If you have more than one page with the same (or similar) name then you may be adding the wrong page to the menu. Go to Pages > All Pages and delete the ones you don't want.

Thx for your response, Marion.

The API coding that most users need is already in the embed code. Only if you wanted to add extra features to your videos would you considering extending the API embed code that YouTube provides.

Jude, thank you for your prompt response.
By extra features, what do you mean? Would that include voicing over my videos with say music?

thanks a bunch, but tbh, I don't know how to edit videos on my pc/laptop. I learned that I could replace recorded videos with music and managed to do that on YouTube. I wouldn't know how to do that on my pc. Is there a video tutorial on here to help with that?

There are a lot of things I don't know and didn't know. I'm really learning as I go, so what may be second nature to others is all Greek to me ;) till I know/learn how to do it, of course.

You need to be careful about using music overlays on videos that you upload to youtube or anywhere to ensure that you don't breach music copyright.

If it is your own original music, then okay.

Are you making your own videos? What software are you using.

The software you use to make the video should have instructions for how to use it to edit the videos on your computer.~Jude

Hi Jude,

YouTube offers some music to be used on one's channel that doesn't contravene their copyright laws.

No, I'm not using any software. Simple videos taking from my phone that I would like to upload to my blog. Nothing quite so fancy yet.

Jud

Okay, that's fine then. If you want to edit the videos, YouTube has a few editing options. I don't know how useful they would be to you. Most people use some kind of additional video editing software. ~Jude

I still don't understand why you think you would need an API. I have 35 videos on YouTube and I've never needed an API.

An API is simply code that enables one to connect to a service or external application or device. (You know this Marion, I mention it for those who don't).

Maybe because the API Reference link on the embed code page in YouTube (at the bottom) confuses people into thinking they need to "get an API".

Some plugins in order to work require getting an API id number to be inserted into WP. In that situation, the developer has already created the API and the id number connects the user to the developer's API.

I'm getting a headache....lol

~Jude

Yeah, when I said "I've never needed an API" I meant I've never needed a YouTube API.

I don't THINK I need an API. I was under the impression that I do need an API to upload videos from YouTube to my blog, and that this is THE ONLY way. I followed a fellow WA's video tutorial and 'found' out about API's though that video didn't explain what an API is, hence, my confusion.

I just want a simple way to get my videos from my pc or laptop to my blog. I have videos on my Google drive but wasn't able to get them from there to my blog directly. My 2 previous questions ( and https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/social-engagement-marketing/how-to-effectively-upload-videos-to-youtube) were my attempt at finding out how to get videos from Google drive to my blog. With one question I was advised to create a YouTube channel and then transfer videos from my YouTube channel to my blog. Am I making sense?

Then, I found your tutorial where you explained the difference between copying and pasting a YouTube video link and actually embedding a video on a site, as with the former it takes visitors away from the site, and with the latter it keeps visitor at the site. Good point! However, I wasn't able to follow the steps you outlined in your tutorial because after clicking on 'Share' I wasn't able to click on 'Embed' because it didn't give me the option to do that. So, I searched on here for other YouTube tutorials and found the one that took me down the 'API code' route. It was getting late, I was tired and all I wanted was to get my videos to my blog. Simple desire, not so simple process.

Hope the clarification helps. I couldn't care less about an API code or no API code - I just want to be able to get videos to my blog.

Now, I'm tired too heehee

Jud

No, I don't want to get into any training for API coding. And I have watched Marion's really helpful video tutorial on embedding YouTube videos in WP but got stuck at the beginning. See my response to her below.
Jud

Here's what you need to understand:

1. You do not upload videos to the WordPress media library. In other words, you will never want to host your own videos through your website. It will slow down your site considerably.

2. Video Platforms, such as YouTube, Vimeo, etc. are video hosting platforms where you upload videos. Then you embed the code they provide into your WP site, as Marion shows you. That way, there is no issue with site loading speeds.

3. To download a video from Google Drive - find the video file. Find the drop down menu and select download (or there may be a down arrow (download symbol), click on that and follow the prompts.

I wouldn't bother, to be honest.
The uploading time will be the same, but the video will be processed faster if you are using "the right" encoder.

I don't bother with this.
Always upload it as a normal MP4 file and never had any problem. I get the same message but I just don't care.

You can have a read here if you want (still very techy):

Thanks.

Hey Judi,

Google searching "youtube seo" and "youtube seo 2017" (without the quotation marks, of course) each bring up different tutorials offering help with this task.

Reading through a few of those shown in the search results (or watching the videos) will help you hone your YouTube videos as you upload each one.

Hope this helps you.

thanks for responding but you've lost me ;)
I think I'll leave it for now but thank you for taking the time to respond.

Hey Judith,

The following tutorial may offer you the help you seek: Hope this helps you.

I actually want to transfer my Google videos to my WordPress blog. But can you tell me how to upload videos to YouTube then? I can't very well embed YouTube videos in WP when I don't yet have any videos on YouTube!

Judith

Hey Judith,

You need to create a YouTube channel and once you do that there will be an easy to see and use button ... Upload Video. Thankfully, YouTube is one of the easiest Google services they have.

Google search "create YouTube Channel" and take a look through some of the posts offered. You may even find some very useful tips that I'm not aware of that will help your channel rank too.

Hope this helps you.

fab, thanks a bunch ;)

Judith

You wouldn't want to put a large video into your website. Is this video in your google drive? You can right click on it and get a shareable link to it. You can always download the video to your laptop by right clicking it, then click download, then click save, and choose where on your laptop you want to save it. Then upload to your media library from your laptop.

I'm not sure if the video is in my Google Drive. I will have to check. It's definitely in my Google pictures.
Update: It is in my google drive. I downloaded the video but it doesn't give me the option to save, only to open or 'cast to device'. What does that mean: 'cast to device'?

How can I safely upload videos to my website, that is, ensure that they are not too large and can be downloaded and viewed quickly and easily?

I have never heard of it saying to cast to device. When I gave you the instructions on how to do it, I actually did it the exact way I told you. I was using Firefox as my web browser. Are you using Apple? Just trying to figure this out. If it is a large file I would put it on You Tube, and just link to it from there so you do not have to worry about it slowing down your site. Anything larger than 32 MB will not go into your media library.

No, I'm not using Apple. I use Google Chrome as my web browser. Your instructions are indeed simple and straightforward, if I was able to follow them. I'll give it a go one more time, and if unsuccessful then I'll take the YouTube route.
Thank you!
