I think you are flogging a dead horse here

Every business in the world has start up costs, do you think that the people who started this website did not have to invest a lot of money and time up front to succeed too, or do you think that a fairy from your perfect world came along and handed them a free ride to success

All business involves risks and up front costs WA offers a very minimal upfront cost to start you on the road, if you join the yearly plan it only cost about £200.0 for the year, that's peanuts.

To start my electrical business cost me £20,000

Welcome to the world of business reality

Barry

Surely this is how things are now and how they always have been. However, if it was not possible to do something new and progressive we would still be living in caves.

For those who have succeeded the issue is moot, they've paid their dues and are reaping the profits.

It is those who have failed or not yet succeeded that wish it were otherwise but they are least likely to know enough to arrange things differently.

Only those who know how to succeed at a task are best equipped to see how it might be changed to facilitate the success of others, which I believe is what this site is all about. I'm just suggesting what the next level of change might be.

As to "flogging dead horses", I have noticed that when horses are ideas flogging them is sometimes the only way to bring them to life.

Are you going to answer every comment with the same response?
What if WA did as you say? and a high percentage of people never succeed because they have given up? Or choose to leave when they start making some money?
That would be a risk for WA wouldn't it?

Apparently yes! He is answering with same response!

My apologies to you and DynamicDavid, BigMook and donmac on my identical answer to each.

I am unfamiliar with making comments in general and thought you would only see my reply if I made it to your comment.

I was very wrong and should have caught on sooner.

Won't do that again :(

I was not trying to suggest that they do everything the same as they do now EXCEPT for not charging.

I was trying to open the question of how they might arrange a way to be directly attached to the websites/businesses they help us to create and share in the money generated to recover their overhead costs for doing so.

I was also asking to be educated as to what technological or business reason would make that impossible (if any).

I'm beginning to think I am too uninformed to be asking this kind of question. I am always trying to dream up a better world but I am too impatient to wait until I know enough to do it myself, instead I try to suggest to those who know more to work on the possibilities.

We are all learning new stuff on here so don't sweat it. Hope you are finding it worthwhile. What you suggest is idealistic but maybe one day eh? :)

Thank you, I was beginning to feel like my imaginings were out of line.

Everyone is entitled to an.opinion and idealism shouldn't be frowned upon because if we aren't striving towards an ideal, what is the point?

With WA you start on the free starter package and only move to premium when you think it is worth the money. For free, you can build 2 free websites within the siterubix.com sub-domain, and get access to a lot of training... the paid option gives you access to a lot more, but you don't move to that until you want to...
I wish other businesses I was involved with in the past had this approach, then I would have saved some money...

I am appreciative of the lengths this site goes to with the free version. Of the few I have investigated they offer the most.

And, yes, being the obsessively frugal and risk phobic person I am I will make use of the free offerings to earn enough to afford the cost of the premium package as I presume most or many of you have done. (or am I wrong about that?)

And, yes, my question was more of a plea for risk free access.

However, assuming that most of you waited to earn enough from the free help to afford the cost of the premium package it would seem to be established that there is enough successful participation to have the financial end restructured to provide payments automatically from earnings.

Only the administrators of this site would know if the ratio of free access users to premium members was too high to afford to do it this way.

Though, extending access to the premium advantages might result in many more of the currently (or not yet ) successful members becoming successful earlier (before they get discouraged and give up) and therefore automatically contributing to the upkeep costs through sharing their growing profits.

I, for one, would not object to a flat percentage going back to this site which could easily exceed the current monthly or yearly rate being charged.

I am certain there are many very smart people involved in this already who could figure a way to make this possible if they could just see past the way things have always been done to how things might be 'in a more perfect world'.

Why the exact same response to everyone? We are looking for meaningful dialogue. It does not add to the discussion at all if you provide the same response to everyone's input.

Regarding your flat percentage idea:

How would WA calculate the income that members are making from their site? Some WA members make their income from Google, others from Amazon, and others from numerous affiliate programs out there.

How on earth would WA calculate this figure for each member?

The admin costs of WA contacting each WA member to get this figure would be huge and may exceed the current monthly premium figure?

How on earth would WA know that the figures given to them would be accurate?

Use the free starter membership for as long as possible. Then and only then, upgrade to premium when you are ready and not before.

Hoping you enjoy your time with WA.

You pay for a service. What other company would do business that way? To me, it is more like an educational establishment. You would have to find the.money to do anynsort of course. The college/Uni etc wouldn't say "oh, just pay us later when you have it". Speculate to accumulate as the saying goes....

The short answer to that is, (and I'm no expert) that not everyone will succeed. Some won't even TRY. If they gave everything away for free how could they make their money?

Try and look at it a different way. Look at it as a college of sorts. You're paying for the education. If you use what you learn, you'll make money, and that will be your payback.

Also keep in mind, you don't NEED to pay. Use the free tools that are given to you. When and only IF you feel it's worth it, then pay the monthly "school fee."

All the best in your success!
Stephen

In an ideal world that would be the way forward, unfortunately we're not. Kyle & Carson took a few years to get to where they are now, spending their cash up front just as we are. They also have bills to pay on a monthly basis.
Who is to say that you or me or anyway is going to make a success of it, we might fail and they end up not getting paid. Good luck with this venture mate.
