Been Away For Awhile-A Lot Has Happened
Hi to all my friends!
I've been MIA for a while. Have you missed me? Ha Ha!π€£π€£
Most of you know that my mom passed away nearly a year ago and I've been having a difficult time dealing with the fact that she's no longer on this earth or in my life.
Her death isn't the only thing that has set me back some and slowed me down in the enthusiasm department.
In March I went up against the Veterans Administration in a video appeal with an appeals judge. It only took six years to get to that point. After testifying to my disabilities, I waited about two months before I heard anything regarding the increase in my disability rating I was requesting. It was a favorable decision for three of the six issues I was appealing in the case. Three issues were remanded and are still waiting final decision.
April rolled around and I was diagnosed with fractures to my sacrum. Most likely cause was all the radiation I had to treat my cancer. Anyway, my orthopedic doctor ordered me to be on bed rest for at least six weeks. No problem doing that because when May strolled in, COVID struck twice and my bed rest was extended even further.
Had a tough time with Mother's Day and it also marked what would have been my parents sixty-ninth wedding anniversary. A double whammy for me.
Before I knew it, it was June and I really wasn't looking forward to celebrating my 65th birthday without my mom.
However, a day or so after my birthday, I received a card in the mail from my daughter that changed my entire outlook.
I never in a million years did I think it was going to happen to me, but it did and I'm pretty ecstatic to share with you the news that I will be a grandmother come February. It was revealed last weekend that I'm going to have a grandson. This news couldn't have come at a better time. I have a joyous event to look forward to that not only has made me very happy but has pulled me from a very deep and sad slump.
During all this time I have been quietly working on a new ebook project, which I'm about to submit to Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP). Just finishing up the design of the cover page before I submit it.
Look for it shortly. It's a follow-up to my previous ebook "Blogging Your Way To A New Career." The new book is based on the theme of my website Living on Lean Means and the title of it is "The Journey From Fixed Income To Successful Business." It reflects on the personal struggles of living on a fixed income and how I learned to overcome the obstacles by building an online business through Affiliate Marketing.
Also during my self-induced sabbatical, I revamped my poetry manuscript and sent it to a local publishing company for publication. I am happy to share that my publisher is now marketing my book to thousands of outlets around the world.
It has a new-look and a few additional pieces of poetry. You can check it out on my publishers website: Newman Springs Publishingο»Ώ.
Okay, so what does all this have to do with Wealthy Affiliate, you ask?
Well, indirectly it shows how often times life stuff happens to pull you down, sends you reeling and throws you off course.
Although, I haven't been an active participant in the Wealthy Affiliate community lately, I'm still using the skills I've acquired at Wealthy Affiliate, to create digital products such as my ebook and poetry book, to see my dreams of being a writer come to fruition.
My two Affiliate Marketing websites are seeing some traffic and I'm receiving numerous inquiries regarding articles I've written, requesting advice or information about one topic or another.
In the next few months, I will be creating new articles for each of my site along with attracting additional customers for my freelance business.
Currently, it takes me a bit longer to create and publish articles due the pain in my lower back creating difficulty with sitting for long periods of time.
Yes, I've been MIA FROM the WA platform but now you have a good understanding of why I have chosen to be inactive for all this time.
Wishing everyone a wonderful, productive and successful fall season and into the holiday season. Is it that time already π³π³π€ͺπ€ͺ.
Take care my friends. Until next time!
~~ Barbara

Hi Valerie,

Can't wait to be a grandmother and I'm sure that's going to consume a great deal of my time going forward.

Barbara,
YOU ARE MAGNIFICENT! What a story! I lost my dad Dec 3, 2021 and yes, there is a hole in my heart. I am thankful that I still have my mom but it's kinda awful. I totally understand where you are coming from!
I am glad you have things to look forward to and that will make you smile!
Keep going! Woohoooo!
Thank you very much for your kind words of understanding. You don't understand how much it helps to know someone else gets where you are coming from.

Hey Nick,
How are things with you these days?
Thank you very much for all your kind words. I've really appreciated your friendship this past year. It's really been a difficult one for me.
I don't guarantee that I'll be on the platform much in the future.
Wingman Chance celebrated his sixth birthday π just the other day. Thank you for asking about him.
Take care and keep in touch.

Well... you know me my friend, soldiering on as best as I can!
I know that things have not been easy for you this last year... but hopefully you are able to see a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel now...
And don't worry about being on the platform my friend, we should always do what is best for us in the long run (but your presence here is always missed)...
His sixth birthday already, wow!
Please give him these (virtual) treats from me...π₯©ππΉ

Nick,
I'm really not overly concerned about being on the platform because I have things to keep me busy, especially with the blessed event coming in a few months.
My content writing and the promotion of my book and writing the other book will keep me moving forward as well.
Wingman said thanks for the virtual treats. I take it that last treat was for me.
Talk soon my dear friend.
Barbara
