I have run up against some opposition.
I sent my webpage that I designed with the help of WordPress of course! My mom was very unsure of what I was doing or how this was going to help me. Well, have ya ever wanted to just curl up into a little ball and disappear? Well this was the moment for me.
I felt like this: If someone goes and buys a Starbucks large cup of coffee and it could cost you $5.00 (for now). If you buy it everyday morning which means you have now racked up $25.00 for one week of work.
For that 1 week of buys coffee I feel I can put out $20. or $30. a month while learning and hopefully produce a great website that will become successful!
So, why doesn't anyone complain that you are spending approximately $100.00 a month on coffee. However, they make you feel that you are wasting your time with even $30. a month?
Well, I guess it could be because I have gone down this road before and lost my shirt. I will have to pray very hard that I can make this work for me! I truly want to make others see that Wealthy Affiliate is a True affiliate that works!

So true, and Linda's comment below is fantastic as well. From now on, when I feel like down, I shall think of the wind in my sails and the smell of coffee!
I SO get what you have shared here, Joy.
When you start your business by developing your website (as you follow the lessons), it is like putting your boat in the water, There is so much excitement to see your boat plunge into the water and bob around for a few moments and then settle in to a calm float on the surface. Then, you board her and ready your craft for its journey.
This is not unlike the time it takes to ready your online business to be making its way to your audience. Gotta' make sure your anchor is tied to a rope, that ropes are correctly coiled, that you have water on board, an emergency kit, life vests in place, the bilge pump is functioning (or as was my case, that sturdy bucket was on hand for the unexpected), provisions for the journey. So much to think about!
This too is not unlike the work we are doing here with our WA lessons and the website we are creating.
Then when are is ready and you have pushed off from the dock and you have your sails catching wind...then, then someone yells from shore, you won't make it, its too hard, its too rickety, you've been duped, you're not ready....then the sails fall flat because they have taken the wind from your sails!
You are the captain of your ship! Not one person can take that from you! And I sincerely hope these naysayers you can respectfully ignore because you can do this. It won't be overnight, you are building a business with clientele (your traffic) and that takes time. Kyle says you can make money in any niche and he has the experience we can trust.
You stay the course and watch what you are going to accomplish once those sails are full of the wind of your accomplishments! It will be exhilarating, just as a sailboat under full sail can fill your soul with pure joy.
You have great support in the folks who have commented below. I'm not terribly accomplished yet with my site, but it is picking up momentum, its gathering more wind in those sails as I continue to adjust them, so I may know something that could help you in your journey.

Thanks Vitaliy! My oldest son is the one that thinks this is a scam, which of course brings my sail down and under water. So I am truly trying to overcome all that and continue on.
You got to love Kids. I was amazed how much my Father learned while I was away at college "back in the Dark Ages", LOL.
I've had the same problems and I just started telling them I was going back to school, they didn't seem to think my college was a scam. William :)
Hang in there, good days and bad days, on my bad days I just take a break and read a book. I know this will take some time.
Just keep going! Don't get sidetracked by such comments, and soon enough you can afford to treat any skeptic to a Starbucks Coffee - and you still have your coffee money producing site!
