Inspiration can strike even in the bad times.

I am in a strange place at the moment. Well not so much strange as strained. Money is tight and the overdraft is ballooning. Not in the "drifting peacefully over the early morning countryside" kind of way either.

My wife is adamant I quit as she really doesn't think I should be paying to learn how to run my business especially given the less than $5 I have made so far. Pointing out how much a bricks and mortar business would cost to run is not worth doing a third time.

And yet things are looking interesting. I have just discovered a keyword/niche with the most traffic I have ever seen. I should clarify, not the most ever traffic for ANY keyword but the most traffic for a keyword that I think I can realistically work with. (QSR is good too, not mega super good, but very solid) And this the week after I messaged Kyle to ask about a leave of absence. He must be busy as I have had no reply. That's ok with me though.

I guess there are a couple of points to this post.

Firstly there can be a mix of circumstances, good and bad, happening at the same time. Which will win out and change what is going to happen is hard to tell. I may miss out on the new niche or it may save me from early exit from WA. Or something totally different may happen. I just don't know. I do know that I need to be OK with whatever happens and keep angling at the goals.

Secondly niches and keywords can strike out of the blue.

We have always been told to stick with our passions, something we know a lot about, or something we would enjoy learning about and essentially turning into our "job" or perhaps livelihood is a nicer word. That was a hard one for me as I am "interested" in a lot of things. Choosing one of them to "take to the next level" was daunting. I have found a couple so far though they need more work. It took a lot of thought and research.

The latest one was the closest to a flash of inspiration I have ever had in my life. I am so impressed with the keyword I started with that I don't even want to HINT at what it is.

All I can say is take a look at your life. What do you enjoy doing? What do you spend time doing? What do you think about when you should be doing something else? Not all of those will be suitable for a niche but don't dismiss something because it sounds daft or trivial. If you spend time on it or it is important to you, go check the keyword tool or Jaaxy.

You may be very surprised.

Good luck!

Hi, Josh.-Last November I accepted a gift from my grandfather ...a book by Jon Acuff "Punch Fear in the Face, START, Do Work THAT MATTERS! I think it is on page 29 where Jon says "ride on the shoulders of a giant to become AWESOME" ! Your Giant and my own for now may be WA and I think we both can ride it into AWESOMENESS! But, until that appears in view, YOU might need to be much more critical of the "passion" bit, putting in a little "practicality" particularly to see if IT CAN GENERATE MONEY! You might also want to "hang on" to something brick & mortar until WA and other Online activities kick in with some money. You probably need something like at least $65k annual income ...it'll take a while and some real work for legitimate Online Business to realize that.

Sometimes I think bad times or stress can cause some of those best ideas to float to the top. I hope you get to develop your new niche idea!

No business is free for the taking! There is no such thing. With offline business, you have rent/lease, utilities, staff. Those are very real expenses. No way can you own a business with this kind of support for about 81 cents a day.

I hope you are able to work the awesome keyword you found. Best wishes with your decisions.

Sorry you do not have the support of your wife. I do understand both sides. I encourage you to keep the faith and in time you will be able to show her that this is not a waste of time or money, but a wonderfully profitable business you own.

Good going Josh!

Its tough when other people that you are close to cannot see the potential that you do. I'm sure she means well, Hang in there!

Josh, I am really hoping that everything works out for you here as you have the right attitude to be successful here. When starting any business there is more investment then return up front and it is getting over that hump that is the hardest part. If there is anything I can do to help please just let me know.

Wish u good luck and good going.

Josh, Kyle is now back and hopefully he can answer your questions. If you can, keep going especially if you have found a new niche. Thanks for sharing. Debbie
