5 Tips To Start, Grow & Scale Your Business
Having seen a fair bit of success recently with getting new referrals, it came to us that these people may be brand new to creating an online business, or any other business for that matter.
So, we thought these 5 tips may just keep them and others on the straight and narrow when things get a little overwhelming - which they do at times!
1. Get Started
Getting started is the single biggest reason why most people never become successful. It nevers ceases to amaze me the high percentage of people who take WA for a test drive but NEVER even add a bio or goals, or blog or follow anyone. They do zero! Why join in the first place?
They think too much or wait too long to make a decision.
If you just get started you’ll start learning, but more importantly, you’ll start earning.
2. Surround Yourself With Winners
This is one of the more challenging things to do because sometimes it means closing relationships with longtime friends and even family or significant others.
As long as you’re being true to yourself and recognizing that you need to be surrounded by people who want to see you win you’ll be fine in the end.
And let's face it, what better place to be surounded than here at WA?
3. Recognize Opportunities
Recognizing opportunities that can lift you up and help you grow is crucial.
Sometimes opportunities arrive that we weren’t expecting and they pop up at what apperas to be the worst time. We are big believers in the phrase "Everything happens at the right time!"
Being able to act on those opportunities in the moment will help you scale to the level you need to be at.
4. Study Successful People
For us we have always studied successful people or had a mentor. Just look around you here at WA, there are a ton of success stories. Simply start following the Top people and take a read of their blogs - you will find inspiration there.
5. Stay Positive & Reframe
One of the more consistent things across the board for successful people is that they all have a positive outlook on life and on people.
They’re rarely negative and always find a way to turn a negative situation into a positive outlook.
Now, of course, there are many other tips, tricks and strategies that will help you start, scale and grow your business.
But we believe these 5 are some of the most important you need to apply to your life right now to get started.

What have you found to be your best way to get referrals? I have had a few referrals through bing ppc but none have gone premium thus far,in spite of myself reaching out.

Like these points. I think that the first is by far the most important. Perhaps keeping going once you have started is also important because you get one thing (whatever that is) knocking you back and then you procrastinate again? Good post, thanks, hudson

I am just one of those persons who is delaying and procrastinating.

Thank you for your excellent blog post-Jon. I have been self-employed for 35 years and it's never failed to amaze me how many people fail to take any real action and then wonder why they are not successful! We have to take action.
I think one of the most important things that we can do is to surround ourselves with the right people, in a good way. Negative people will eventually bring us down, I try and run extremely fast from these type of people.
The Internet has opened up absolutely amazing opportunities that we could have never dreamed of a few years ago, we need to grab hold of these opportunities and lever the power of the Internet!
I cannot underestimate the power of being around successful people, it is such a motivating experience and we can learn so much. As we share our experience and thoughts on Wealthy Affiliate we learn from each other and encourage each other.
I believe that there is huge power in being positive, I think we all know what it's like to get out of bed the wrong side, it doesn't work! But being positive and motivated helps us move our life and business forward.
