240 Posts to Review, Rewrite & Give Them The SEO Treatment

The title of this blog says it all, however, let me explain a little about my plan or perhaps not. I'm counting on your comments. A large part of my learning here at WA was with my first website.

When I read it back I see what my problems were, I wasn't following the training laid out for me here at WA. It's kind of funny reading back, however, I now see what I was doing wrong and the amount of content I was writing that made no sense.

There is no point competing with the MMO entrepreneurs that have websites attracting 10, 000 visitors a day. At least not at first, you can compete when your website is ready with great content and a trust following.

Keyword Competition Can Come Later

I learned much of my knowledge here at WA via research and from what I knew all those years back. I still have a whole lot to put in order to win. BTW! It's still important to learn keyword research and implementation

I should have taken the training, paced myself and created posts that were 100% readable first.

I now have three websites and here's my dilemma. I am thinking about stripping my first website, reviewing and rewriting the posts and placing them up on a newer website giving them the SEO treatment.

Sure it will take time, however not as much time as it will to write another 240 posts.

I don't feel the domain name is good enough or feel it has anything to do with affiliate marketing. I'm not upset about this because I learned a whole lot to get this far almost three year now.

So I now have 240 posts that need some serious work doing to them, especially the older ones.

What would you do? Continue writing on the old website or completely revamp the posts and place them on another website which is far newer and better?

My newer websites are nothing amazing, however I can see how much I have improved. So I have this opportunity to place the posts when I have revamped them with the SEO treatment on to one of the remaining two websites.

I don't think in anyway my first website was a failure at all because I learned a lot, however, the domain is shown in a non related area (Nothing to do with Affiliate Marketing)

New members always follow the training as it's a system that works which is what I have been doing for sometime now.

So, what will it be, leave the posts and add to them or completely revamp them with the SEO treatment and work hard at doing so?

BTW! I will be deleting the posts on old website once placed on newer website.

A great reflection, Stephen. Lessons learned!

Mmm?? I am not so sure about the best advice to give you here my friend... there seem to be many different variables at play here!!

Are your 240 posts spread out over your three websites?

Are you receiving decent monthly traffic to any/some/most of your posts???

Updating past posts can help a lot in the eyes of big G, but doing all of them simultaneously is not an easy task!!

I wouldn't worry so much about a domain name Stephen and its relevance, after all, does " Apple" sell apples!!

Building a brand is much more important!

If you could share a little more info with us.... I am sure that you will receive better advice than I can give you!! :-)

Hi Jeff the 240 posts are on one website only and they need a lot of work which is ok and better than figuring out what to write all the time.

BTW Jeff there is no traffic to my old website!

I think I can choose the ones that are relevant to the narrowed-down niche I choose for new the category on my new website.

My domain is lost in amongst none affiliate websites. I know what you mean by the apple story, however, It's a non-winner for me on the old website.

it's been three years and trying to shift it so I can only see that as a problem for me. My latest website is among affiliate-based websites already so I'm thinking to go ahead and implement posts on that.

Ok my friend... I am not too sure who Jeff Is!! My name is Nick! But I am sure you knew that anyway!!

So, you are saying that all 240 posts are from the same website and you are receiving absolutely no traffic at all??

Are you sure that your GSC and GA are set up properly?

If they are... and this site is a couple of years old, then I would have to say that the chances of reviving it look slim...

Not impossible by any means, but maybe starting over again would be a better alternative???

Hi Nick,

That's what I think too Nick and if I have to be really honest during that time I really wasn't in a good place like I am now. It hasn't been a waste of time though.

BTW I completely re-implemented Google Analytics and GSC not so long back and they work fine but like I said the traffic isn't there. I understand the other two sites but not the oldest one.

I learned a lot and there is some good content on there I just need to sift through it and get some great posts up with what I know now and the posts from three years ago.

Sorry buddy! I just had to nip out and pick up a quick Burger King!!

While the wife is away... I can eat whatever the hell I want to!!

Nothing is ever a waste of time my friend... every day we learn something new!

If something hasn't worked for us in the past... no worries!

Put it down to learning, analyse what went wrong or didn't work and do it better the next time round!!

If it still doesn't work.. try again!!

There is no one method that will work for all of us all of the time (if only life was that simple eh)!!!

Keep on persevering Stephen.. and I am always here if you ever need to reach out ok!!

Hi Nick

That's just like me, I just had a Dixy's Chicken delivered couldn't be bothered to cook didn't finish work until 8 pm.

I'm fine with the patience, however thanks for the kind words I will continue and keep going. I just read Patha's keyword post again and thought I would give that autosuggest method a try tomorrow.

Hope you enjoyed your Burger King!

Thanks for the clarification, Stephen!

Jeff

Sounds like you have your work cut ouf for you, Stephen!

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

I haven't decided fully yet but I am thinking it's the best way. Once I get going with the SEO treatment I can rewrite a post in about two hours that's including keywords etc. I will only redo the posts that are rewritable though, ones I really still like.
