Where are You Going on Vacation?
Ask someone, "Where are you going on vacation?" They will tell you, "Oh, I'm going to Disney World, Myrtle Beach, Gatlinburg, Las Vegas, or wherever.
The person knows how they are going to get there. Who they are going with, and where they are going to stay. It's easy for them to rattle off a list of things they want to do and see.
They can tell you the plethora of tasks they have to accomplish, like board the dog, get someone to pick up the mail, get a coworker to cover their accounts, etc.
It is no problem for them to formulate contingency plans should one of their tasks suffer a setback. The dog kennel is filled? No problem. A few phone calls and other arrangements are made.
They can tell you because they know where they are going. They have planned.Tthey have set priorities. They are taking action,
Ask a person about their goals, and about eighty percent will respond in vague generalities. "I want to be a better person." "I want more money." "I want a different job."
We put more thought into how we are going to spend a small segment of our lives than we put into our ultimate destinations.
Making your life goals is every bit as simple as planning your vacation.
- Decide where you are going (OK, this one will take some thought, but not enough to scuttle the entire project)
- Understand why you are traveling toward your selected destination.
- Plan ways to get where you want to go
- Develop contingencies when you encounter obstacles,
- Celebrate the significant milestones.
- Celebrate your arrival and enjoy!
- Discern a new and greater goal, rinse and repeat.

Good read and most can not afford the vacation. If more thought was put into goal setting and trying a stay at home vacations they may find that they have more money, less stress etc. food for thought.
Thank you. Less stress is always better. The best way is to get work you really like and live your vacation.

That's particularly true even inside this platform. When you read goals on 'what are my goals' section here in WA, you read very vague statements like ''I want to make lots of money'', ''I want to make enough money''. I'm always tempted to ask them to give precisions but end up not asking for fear of appearing rude or too authoritative.

Great post! I feel like I'm on vacation every day working at WA because it is so much fun and exciting! ...and when I AM on vacation, I can bring WA with me and have even more fun!
