Those are great tips you sharing about Yoast.
I have used Yoast for many years and been through those times of frustrations attempting to please what Yoast most desires to see.
Over time, puzzling my mind, asking in the community, and searching the wisdom of the world wide web and receiving little comfort from the best of help offered, I decided to do just as you've decided, being - my SEO always shines with a Greenlight, but as I can never satisfy Yoast with my writing they will just have to live with it. I now write to the best my ability, and that's that! We each have 24 hours in a day and to spend a chunk of those hours trying to please Yoast is no longer for me.
And, I did consider using All-In-One SEO on my sites but it could be rather time challenging making changes to current posts.

That's all we CAN do isn't it? Write to the best of or ability, and ignore the "Grammar Nazi" part of the Yoast program. It can be just too much!
Yesterday, I ended up getting 14 of 14 Green Lights for SEO of my post, but inexplicably Yoast tells me Readability is only so-so. It shows me completely false information.
I tried pleasing IT to an extent, but no more.
I beyond that, I KNOW I wrote a good article, so I will ignore those Orange Lights!

This is great information about Yoast. I don’t think All in One SEO has any features like this that I’m aware of. It makes me think about switching over.
Excellent Colleen, Yoast is very good for SEO, I would try to please it for Readability but only to a certain limit because it can get ridiculous.

Yoast SEO is very useful Ingrid, for SEO settings. Readability can be useful to an extent, just don't get obsessed by those broken "traffic lights"!

Very nice read. I can certainly relate to many of the feelings you have when using Yoast.
One of the biggest things I learned ... DO NOT chase the traffic lights. You do not need to have all green to be able to rank well in Google, etc.
These traffic lights are guidelines. You can choose to ignore some of these items. Especially the sub-headings breakdown. With some of these items, you will be just fine with a yellow (or orange) traffic light for this.
Yoast has a blog article on this as well if you go to their website and search for it. I am going to insert a (non-affiliate) link here. Take a look specifically at the section "Should all bullets be green?" - https://yoast.com/yoast-seo-readability-analysis/
But I certainly agree that some of the points they make in this readability analysis can cause frustration.

Great article. If you click that eye to the far right, Yoast should highlight in purple the text it is referring to. :)
Thanks Geoff, I did TRY that several times, and it did not indicate anything for me. Nothing purple, red, or any other color!
Yea I've seen errors like that before. It usually corrects after the post is published. I think that Captions also count in the word count. I know they do for the 3 consecutive sentence rule.
Hey another good resource to help with writing is the Hemingway App. I had a client that mandated I use it, and it really helps.

Thank you, Kaju. I would definitely check Yoast out. It has some valuable points. "We can't get everything we want." We'll make use of what we can get.
