100 Subscribers: First Hurdle to Clear for You Tube Channel

There are several “hurdles” you will want to clear as you are building up your You Tube channel with great content from the beginning. You should be aware of all of them.
Clearing these hurdles will help you to look like a serious You Tuber, which will bring you higher views and better engagement, and eventually bring you to monetization.
Everyone talks about reaching to 1000 subs, that's a very important goal you need to attain (I will speak more on this in a later post), but there is a BIG that comes much earlier.
And anyone can attain this first hurdle.
The first hurdle you will need to clear for your You Tube channel to offically "arrive"
(other than posting your first video) is to reach 100 subscribers.
Why is 100 Subscribers an Important Early Benchmark?

Why is the 100 subscriber mark an important early metric for your You Tube channel as an early benchmark?
In a word, for your branding.
Until you are able to reach 100 Subscribers, You Tube will only allow you to have a You Tube URL that looks like this messy goggledygook:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLns4qEXagQ1ASvH8Aax3cg?view_as=public
This is an ending (permalink) that is not very attractive or having you look like a serious You Tube account at all, wouldn't you agree?!!
But as soon as you reach 100 subscribers on your You Tube channel, You Tube will automatically give you the option in your “Settings” to create your own personal URL (also called a “vanity” URL).

4 Things You Will Need for Your Branded URL

Reaching the 100 Subscriber mark is the main hurdle to establish your own branded URL, but there are a few simple formality requirements you also will need to meet.
It's something that anyone can achieve if they work out it and are serious developing a real presence on You Tube.
Here are the 4 requirements you must meet to change your URL to a branded one:
- Your own Custom Channel Banner
- Your Channel Icon, which is usually best to be either your profile photo or a brand logo
- Your channel will need to be older than 30 days
- You must have 100 subscribers or more on your channel
For easy reference, I have labeled these 4 requirements to the corresponding parts on my channel in thew image above.
Custom Setup of your Branded URL

Since You Tube has changed their Dashboard to You Tube Studio (Beta), setting up your own branded URL can be a bit confusing. I’ve found this out doing it on my own.
You can do some research, but there is lots of conflicting information out there due to setting up your branded URL through the You Tube Studio BETA (newer) and You Tube Classic Studio(older) versions.
No worries, I will be doing it all for you.
For this reason, I will be creating a step-by-step training on how to do it that will be easy.
Stay tuned as shortly I will provide a separate training HERE on WA that will walk you through the setup of your own branded URL.
