What do you think about using Alexa to rate a website if you're considering their affiliate program
Alexa ranks websites. Is it a good indication if I'm considering their affiliate program?
Not always, but sometimes it can be a good indicator of whether or not the site is active. If they are unranked in Alexa, this usually means that they get no traffic and if they have been around awhile, this should set off red flags (why aren't people promoting it).
However, we need to remember that Alexa is not a true gauge of how much traffic a website gets because they don't have access to any website data (other than their toolbar data or 3rd party data).
I typically choose affiliate programs based on the quality of the product, the sales page (design, quality, professionalism) and most importantly, whether or not it would benefit my audience.
My instincts were correct, because of the quality of the sites I'm considering. I will forget about Alexa and go with my gut. Thank you.
Yeah, it can be an OK gauge, but your instinct will always tell you what is good and what is bad. There are a lot of garbage products out there with a decent Alexa.
