I Quit My Job Today!
I'm excited to report, today I submitted my letter of resignation and it's all thanks to my website fitprofree.com.
Although it may not be exactly what you're thinking...
A quick look into my life. I've been living in Bangkok for the last 2 years working as an English teacher. I've also been personal training and working on my fitness website on the side.
Needless to say I've been very busy. I quickly reached a point where either my teaching or my website and personal training was beginning to suffer.
I really wanted to follow my passion of fitness and in order to do that I needed to be more hands on in my field. I was considering going back to the states to start training again. Luckily, being in the fitness circles in Bangkok allowed me to rub shoulders with CEOs of some of the high-end fitness clubs in Bangkok.
Word got out about my website and one of the CEOs was so impressed he contacted me and asked me if I'd be interested in training full-time at their facility. Not only that, after a few months I'd have the option to travel to other locations and help other facilities around Asia. One of which is an Olympic training resort.
If you know anything about living and working in Thailand getting a job other than teaching is next to impossible.
What's more during the interview we started discussing websites and SEO. I pointed out some things he could do with his website to improve Google rankings which sealed the deal even more.
Since then I've had another high-end fitness center owner contact me to come in for an interview.
This is really the opourtunity I've dreamed of. I'm living in an amazing place and I get to do what I love.
This couldn't have come at a better time. Even though I really enjoy writing about fitness, I was just starting to get discouraged for picking a website in such a over-saturated niche.
I haven't made a lot of money off my website so it's not enough for me to quit working altogether, but that's ok. Even if I was making enough, I'd still be training and working with clients.
So, sitck with it guys. Keep pursuing what you love and what you want. Success comes in more ways than one.

Congrats Jeff! Absolutely true what you just said "So, stick with it guys. Keep pursuing what you love and what you want. Success comes in more ways than one." I am very happy for you!
Congratulations Jeff! This is motivating for me just starting and seeing the competition out there feels a little intimidating so I'm glad I read this. Congratulations again
Hi Jeff. I am living just down the road in Phuket, so I know what you mean about teaching English. I am enjoying the challenge of Asian life and it is so motivational for many of us to see what you have accomplished with your website.
Great job, buddy.
This is such a motivational blog. Being able to do what you have done is the dream of many here. Knowing that it is possible gives people that kick to keep moving forward and not to give up.
Congratulations on your success and enjoy your journey!
Well done Jeff. I like your website; it is very well done and I can tell you have put a lot of time and effort into it. Any advice for someone wanting to get started in the same field?
Thank you for the comment. It's been a lot of work.
As for some help, try to find a more specific niche in a fitness related field that you like. It can be something like skinny guys looking to gain muscle or specialize in exercise for a specific sport such as triathletes, racket sports. etc...
Also, don't go to the fitness magazines or youtube for ideas. For the best information look to research journals and news journals from certifying agencies. ACSM, NSCA, ACE, and NASM are my go to sources.
If you're certified you should have continuing education credits to keep up with. CECs are a great source of up-to-date ideas. Just make sure you do your keyword research.
Best of luck!
