A Lesson in Perseverance Taught to Me by a Couple of "Nest Builders"
Hello Everybody!
I've noticed the other day that there were two sparrows attempting to build a nest under the eaves of my "thinking deck"!
After a few attempts on Sunday, and my discouragement with a couple of sweeps of a broom, they flew away, and I didn't see them for the rest of the day!
On Monday morning, I was dismayed to find the nesting materials placed under the eaves AGAIN! These suckers just don't give up! (They are the same birds in the cover picture).
I not-so-patiently removed the debris three more times in the day, satisfied that I had finally done enough to discourage their nest construction in my location!
This morning (Tuesday), I walked out on the deck with coffee in hand, and this is what I saw!
You can't see it in my photo, but there is a small twig in the Sparrow's mouth! The eave in question where they are attempting to build the nest is just above the pole..
This time I used a wire car opening tool to once again remove the nest they were building.
BUILDING OUR INTERNET AFFILIATE MARKETING BUSINESS IN WEALTHY AFFILIATE CAN BE JUST AS ANNOYING AS I AM SURE THAT I AM TO THESE STUBBORN BIRDS!
My takeaway from this experience is that we must persevere through myriad issues with our websites, unexpected setbacks, and a host of other potential problems that can befall our websites.
We must learn to be just like those sparrows who experienced many setbacks every time I removed their nesting material!
They persevered and are still persevering to build their nest, just as we must persevere to build our internet Affiliate Marketing business here in Wealthy Affiliate!

YEAH, well articulated Jeff!
These sparrows have identified a niche (which is problematic in that you feel is your niche), and they have decided they are not letting go of it for any reason! They can see the discouragement, frustration and even risk that they are facing, but on the other hand they could be seeing the potential of the niche, and the abundance of resources lying around (e.g. the "building materials"). I think we must always persevere, especially in situations where the potential benefits clearly outweigh the setbacks or risks.

As much as I love to bird watch, birds, or any animal that decides to take up residence without paying rent or even offering to wash the dishes, is a complete pain in the neck.
Had a family of squirrels decide to set up housekeeping in our attic last winter...took more than persistence - actually a trapper with persistence to find those guys a new home!
You stay persistent providing us with your daily dose of wit and wisdom. It gets us through these tough times and allows us to focus and persevere on our path to success!

I can only imagine the headache the squirrel family caused. When we lived at the eBay house there were either birds or possible squirrels which found a way into the tiny "air" space in our ceiling (it is really too low to appreciably be called an attic).
Hearing them walk around up there--the pitter-patter of little feet drove me nuts--I used to tap the ceiling with a broomstick to get them to either move out, or at least go into another area so that we could sleep!
I'll keep writing motivational and positive posts, especially since we need everyone's wit and wisdom here if we are to get out of the current world situation with our sanity intact!

You bet it's pretty annoying Jeff. Especially if your google analytics tracking code just disappears for no reason, or you find out you have to resize your pictures as they slow your site down. That's just my today's activities :) Pretty boring! But all that hassle is worth it. Thanks for pointing that out!
Wow, Lenka! it certainly must be, but as you tackle and solve these issues, your authority as a website builder and affiliate marketer just grows and grows! I know that your persistence will win out in the end!

Jeff, I am disappointed in you. Imagine destroying the poor wee bird's nest and not once either. I hope they poo on your head for that one lol.
Joking aside though, you are right it is very much the same as us working away at WA and learning to persevere and keep going even though we don't feel like we are getting anywhere, we know we cannot give up.
