ShareA Sale has a new website makeover!
I really like the new look of the ShareASale site. I am new to the site, and the previous edition was hard to learn to navigate. It's more user friendly now, and I like it. I only have one problem --and it's HUGE!
Yesterday, I used the custom link maker to make custom links for my Pinterest Pins. They worked great.
The new custom links look different, and Pinterest is rejecting them as SPAM! AAARRRGGHHHH! I'm ready to tear my hair out.
How can I get around this?

I'm with Awin and we acquired ShareASale. I will ask Brian Littleton, President of ShareASale, about this tomorrow and get an answer for you. Don't worry, we will figure this out!
Go the support team. Also you cannot directly place your affiliate link in pinterest. Instead put your website link. When the visitors click on that they will be redirected to your website in which there are affiliate link...
Actually, I WAS putting the affiliate link directly in my Pinterest pin. And those links still work.
Then they did the makeover, and that changed the way the custom links worked. I don't know enough about coding to fix it.
I recently joined ShareAsale and I agree with you that it's huge. Do you know the best product affiliates, you can recommend?
Amazon is one of the best, they also refer Clickbank, Clicksure, Commission Junction. I don't know anything about shareasale, but I intend to explore this program though.
Can you define "best product affiliates"?
Would that be:
1. highest commission rates?
2. best conversion rates?
3. in a specific niche?
I am with http://Awin.com, the affiliate network that acquired ShareASale, so I'm always glad to help answer questions about them.
Thank you, Isabella. I have tried Clickbank and my application quickly went through. I will try Clicksure, as well.
Keep in mind those networks focus on digital downloads, so you need to constantly make sure that the programs are live and you are still linking to what you meant to link to. Merchant turnover there happens at a much higher rate than advertisers selling physical products. Clickbank affiliates often use PPC to promote, so you'll be competing with that as well if you choose their merchants.
Thank you so much, Jeannine, for your help. Now I can make better informed decisions. I joined ShareASale recently and noticed that there is so much going on. To be honest, I didn't know where to start from. Thanks for pointing me to different routes that I can use at ShareASale, having commissions, conversion and niche, in mind.
Thank you JeannineC, I am not ready just yet but I will ask you when I am. Thanks a lot. Sounds exciting...I would love to, maybe my next step as soon as I have worked on my backlog.
I like the look of it, too. But the custom links don't work like before. I just want it to be easy to work with my Pinterest pins. And the custom links were working just fine last night before the site update.....sigh....I was just getting used to it.
(boo hoo?)
The ShareASale team has now changed it so that you can get the links just the way you'd like them.
I haven't been on ShareASale site for awhile so I'll check it out. Thanks for sharing :-)
Hi Judy, I've been with ShareASale for many months now and I'll be going over there now to check out the new makeover.
I would send a message to ShareASale letting them know how Pinterest is rejecting them as spam. Being fairly new with this makeover they may not realize there are glitches.
Pinterest doesn't like affiliate marketing and would rather you link directly to your website through your images, versus linking to an affiliate link.
That is likely why you are getting this and it can happen to totally legitimate programs (that are not spam) within certain social platforms.
Hi Kyle, I see but they don't have to reject it as spam. They could have sent Judy a message.
I'm not with Pinterest anyway.
I went to my website to make sure my banner was fine and its good. I like the makeover also it looks clean and easier to navigate. It was 'too busy' and junky looking before.
Hi Judy, I hope so also and am sure they will resolve the issue.
If you haven't read it yet, in his comment Kyle mentioned how Pinterest doesn't like affiliate marketing, and wants you to link directly to your website through images.

Okay, I spoke with the ShareASale team and they've made an update. Try it now and you should get the link in just the format you need. Let me know!
