My 1st ever blog post
I have been a member of Wealthy Affiliate since late last year.
I started with this really fired up and yet as time went by, I saw my motivation going down as a result of not seeing the results I wanted right away.
I have learned though that I started with an unrealistic expectation which situated me for a big fall. I have been influenced by all the crap that gurus freely put out in the internet about how easy it is to earn big time online within a very short span of time.
It made me appreciate though, the values that I've learned here in Wealthy Affiliate. That success online isn't just measured by how fat your bank account is. That Internet Marketing, like everything else in life that's worth succeeding at, needs hard work, patience, perseverance and the willingness to never stop learning.
I have just started to take on a new journey within Wealthy Affiliate. Thanks to Kyle, Carson, and all the people involved in WA for putting up this new OEP thing.
The training on "Newbies Avoid Getting Overwhelmed With Creative Organization" by thesue has also helped me recently to have a plan on how to go about my learning here at WA.
So if you're a newbie as well, I would recommend you read it.
As for me, I'm starting to implement the stuff I've learned from that article and I have actually bought myself some office supplies just to get organized.
Off to a good start, and hoping to continue on this.

Hi Jan, congratulations on your first Blog post! This alone is a great achievement as you have vocalized your thoughts on Internet marketing and the learning process. Everyone at WA has a voice and your blog is the place where you can get the word out.
You are 100% correct in saying that success is not measured only by your bank account. There are many successes that will take place before you start earning a consistent income online and each one is important. Whether it is blogging for your first time here at WA, or finding a niche, purchase a domain, setting up your website, earning that first sale, or reaching a specific revenue goal...all are considered milestones and are examples of success.
Now that you have blog posted here at WA, I hope that you will use the platform we have provided to your great benefit. Interaction while you learn is one of the tools that will propel your learning and lead you to reaching your goals. Thanks for the post as it will help others who are just getting started here at WA! -Carson
Thanks for the encouragement Carson! I will continue on learning and using the tools here in WA and hopefully step by step achieve the success that i want. And you're right, there are milestones towards our journey to success that we should not neglect but instead recognize and use them to inspire us to move forward. Thanks for making WA such a wonderful community to be part of.
hey jan - great post - i've tried some of the gurus and got burned like everyone else - anything worth having is worth working for and i just joined WA with that philolophy in mind - it's nice to hear that you can make money if you follow the 'learn but don't get burned' system - here's to the future
Great post. I did the same thing. Bought a bunch of stuff, hardly applied any of it. I look forward to seeing your progress!
Yep.., I can definitely relate to your post. I was exactly the same I too was easily sucked into all the guru crap.. expecting to earn big dollars in a short amount of time. Only to realize that its really not as easy as they make it out to be. Spending heaps of money on products and information that get you nowhere. Thank god for WA!!!
I've found that having something exciting that you want to do, or have, helps keep me motivated on the days where you feel like everything is against you. Like you said hard work, patience and perseverance.
Good luck with everything
Thanks Adam! That's so true, it has to be something that excites you or else you will get bored or burnt out before long. Wishing you success in everything as well! Cheers!
