I cant get comments on my page its only on one of my pages, should i change my theme is that possible, I tried a plug in but it seems to not work, I have clicked on the activat
Commenting for posts is defaulted to on, while with pages you have to go to the pages editor where you see your list of pages and then click on "quick edit" for the page you want comments on and then click the "allow comments" box.
Imagine your website as a book. The "Pages" would be everything about The Book......The Glossary, Table of Content, About the Author...Concordance.
Now the Posts are everything your book is about...ie little red shoes, leather boots, High Tops vs flats.
I know this sounds irrelevant but download this plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/post-type-switcher/) and switch those PAGES to POSTS. The reason is that with a True "Page"...there is No Reason to Comment on it.
If you open up the relevant page or post and click on Screen Options, top far right of your screen, you can tick two boxes, Discussions and Comments.
If you then scroll down beneath the editor window, you'll see a new set of options where you can control whether comments appear or not. :)
most of my post and page had them checked already and its not coming up, is there another step that I need to take so it can appear.
After you've ticked the Comments and Discussion boxes in Screen Options, you need to scroll down under the editor window and you should see > http://d.pr/i/mNjCMg

Im making a one page website for pest control in Miami fl I wonder if there is any training on learning how to bring local traffic into my website. and make my phone ring. I re
Jay has plenty of training on that. Just searched with the smart bar and found this: Live LOCAL Case Study: From Research to LOCAL Rank Also Local SEO & Marketing Primer
no problem! Jay is a great resource for this. Don't hesitate to reach out to him personally. He's very accessible.
Yeah, the key though for PPC and other elements like that to work correctly is that you already need to have some consistent traffic coming in. I know you've decided to make a one page site, but creating a multi post site like what's described in the training here really does boost your site's visibility and has distinct advantages. Each post is like creating more and more ways for your target audience to find you. You're in the perfect spot with this training to learn to create one the right way. Have you thought about maybe going that route? When you pick and choose different elements they usually don't pan out, or else everyone would just do the same, know what I mean?
