You'll need to back up your site before you change the nameservers. Full Backup With a Plugin Then contact Site Support and ask them to help with the move.
Hi WA, i wonder how soon i can get a response from the support team on my question about transferring my domain from strikingly to WA. It's been more than 24 hours and I have
Posted your question in Live Chat.
I encourage you to contact Carson (or Kyle) directly. They always get back to you
Have you checked your private messages? If you see a red envelope at the top of the page then someone has sent you a message. Support usually respond very quickly. I've never had to wait even half an hour.
Are you trying to move an existing website with lots of posts and pages or transfer a domain name? They are very different things and require different solutions.
Is your website at strikingly built on WordPress? If not then it's much more difficult to move the site.
Hi, no reply from support at all.
I only intend to transfer the domain over not the site as I will be rebuilding from scratch using Wordpress.
Perhaps you could use a SiteRubix subdomain to rebuild your site on WordPress. You would then be able to reference the old site as you recreate it. Then change the nameservers and move the site from the subdomain to the real domain name.
Hi, Irene. From my experiences, the responses were pretty fast. Usually within 24 hours. You might wish to contact them again just to make sure they received your support ticket.
I see. In that case, you could try to send a PM to Carson or Kyle. They may take a little longer to respond as they have many PM to respond each day.
Alternatively, post your domain transfer question to the community, someone might just have the answer you are looking for. Hope this help.
i posted there but no one replied. all i need is just to know if domain from strikingly can be transferred over to WA or not before i instruct strikingly to release it to WA
I see. I did a search too and seems that no one has done that before.
If I am not wrong, you can only transfer domains with WordPress installation to WA. If you are using a free website provider which is using their own proprietary website builder, you may have an issue.
Nevertheless, I would advise you confirm it with Kyle again. Kyle will definitely reply your PM, albite it may take a bit longer.
