I'm wanting to transfer a website that is currently registered / hosted on wordpress.com

They don't allow plugins or FTP access, and although I can export all of the files

You should be able to export using this: That will have all images and text. However, your theme and plugins will not be copied over, so you would need to re-upload those and fix menus, widgets, and other theme related aspects.

However, "moving" the site means your old site will still exist. You will have to delete the old site, and it may take time for the new site to re-index as well as have your old site de-indexed.

Depending on what your goal is, and whether you want to build a business on your current site, it may be easier to just move your website from Wordpress.com subdomain to their self hosted version rather than moving the hosting to WA.

How much content do you have on the site, and do you think it will work as a niche site that you want to build for WA?

I think when you import an export file from another wordpress site there is an option to automatically download and upload all media attachments. I'm not sure if it works though, it might be worth a try.

I tried using a plugin to move my site but it was not working well for me. I ended up opening a ticket with support and they assisted me with the move.

I have heard of people discussing successes with the plugin
called WP Clone. You could look into that plugin if you want to try on your own first.

You should not have to do any manual editing / downloading / uploading images. If you have always managed your website through WordPress then they can all be moved together and your posts / media library will be intact.

Cheers,

Marcel

Hi all

Just wondering if anybody here actively uses Payoneer? I'm living in the UK but want to get US payments from Amazon and other places transferred into an account (as

Hey there!

I've actually got some experiences with receiving payments via Payoneer. Unfortunately, the main issue with Payoneer is the following: you need some sort of service connected with it. This means that Amazon must be a participant of the Payoneer Payment Service. Otherwise, you cannot use Payoneer. I once worked via a freelance platform and received payments via my Payoneer card, from which I could directly withdraw funds from an ATM. You also have fees when you withdraw money from the ATM - I believe it was something like 2 US-Dollars each time. This only worked because I registered my Payoneer Account via the freelance platform and because it is a partner of Payoneer. I hope I could help you a bit! =)

Greetings from Germany,
Vanessa

Hi Vanessa, thanks for sharing! Do you know if there's a limit to how much you can withdraw at any one time using the card? So lets say I get a few $1000 deposited from Amazon, could I go to a cash-point and withdraw all of it in one go?

Sure! Well, I once withdrew $1000 and it was no problem at all. Should work out just fine!

Why not use PayPal?
I have never heard of Payoneer ..

Good suggestion by Bald Eagle.

Because Amazon don't offer Paypal as a payment option unfortunately :(

If you're a non US resident, your choices are cheque "check", or gift card *which is virtually useless for non US folk*.
