Can I change my WordPress theme (template) without losing my settings and plugins etc? or will I have to redo everything?

I've had a few issues with a couple of things a

It is definitely a lot of work when you are changing theme. Some settings that you previously made, may be nullified, and you may need to adjust when you change your theme. I did change my theme a few times when I was using free themes, because the creators just didn't bother to update their source code when Wordpress is updated. So, I had no choice but to change themes. Whenever I change themes, I have to go back and forth to make sure everything looks the way I want it to be. Which means to go through every single posts and pages that I've published. It takes a lot of time, and you can hardly get any support because it's free anyway, and that's the problem.

That's also the reason I change my theme to a paid theme, so that I can get all the support I need. Not sure if you would take my advice, but I recommend you changing to a paid theme to avoid future hassle.

there may be none or there may be loads depending on what New theme you use. Never change a theme without doing a backup. Go to dashboard and export and download a backup to your hard drive

So I signed up with Google Adsense and I have been accepted. I have tried two different plugins to try and get control over the ads and placement of the ads in the posts, but i

First, you'll want to remove the original code which enables Page Level ads. Do not use Auto Ads as they put the ads in weird places too.

Can I control the placement and types of google adsense ads?

I am currently finding fantastic keywords and phrases for my niche in Jaxxy but when I search google with these phrases I'm not coming up anywhere... after searching the first

Hey @onmyownterms, I don't think that asking for help on a specific website is considered spam. Unless you plaster it all over the community. Anyway @Ingrid111, what is the targeted keyword you are ranking for? Also, you need to know that it will take google at least 3 months or more to rank your articles, so be patient. This is just a way for Google to know if you are CONSISTENTLY posting great content. They won't rank articles from websites that has little to no valuable content. So, if your website only has one or a few articles, you can't expect that Google ranks your articles. The KEYWORD here is CONSISTENCY, and Google loves that.

Thanks so much, I just received an email letting me know that one of my articles has been indexed with Google. So I'm pretty happy about that. I wasn't sure about the Keywords thing as a friend had told me I needed to put more keywords in the code, so I think they got me a bit confused about whether I had missed something in the training. but looks like I didn't. There's a lot to learn but I am enjoying the training, I have 8 articles now. Thank you for your ongoing help and support.

Awesome! And Congrats on the index. More will come and traffic too!

You don't need to add them anywhere other than how is trained - title, leading paragraph, write naturally. Google is very particular about writing - it needs to be very strong in order to rank highly. I recommend using Grammarly - spelling and punctuation count when it comes to determining rank.

Thanks for that, I have written some interesting and helpful content and I am using Grammarly. But I just don't seem to come up on the radar when I search my site name, or any of the article names so thought I must be doing something wrong. Your welcome to look at my site.

Please remove the site - that's considered spam by our community rules - also I don't do individual site reviews through anything other than the SiteFeedback portal.

sorry didn't know that

It's OK - the best place to add your URL is in the 'follow me on' section of your profile - you can refer people there if they want to check out your site.

I tried to do ask a question in the help centre but when I click on the Ask question nothing happens?

Does WA frown on quotes with full disclosure or plagiarism with full disclosure?

You need to start typing - it will begin to fill in with previously asked questions - if your question is not there, then click on the 'x' to make the drop-down go away and continue.

Yes, I did that. I'm using chrome. could that be a problem? Its when I go to submit my question that nothing actually happens.
