I know good traffic depends on the niche and the size of the site. As a newbie what should I consider a good traffic flow: More than 10 visitors/month 100.

Content is less important than traffic in terms of getting accepted by affiliate programs. So focus on getting a good framework for content (10 - 15 pages/post on your website), and then you are going to be able to quite easily get accepted. ;)
You would normally need content and traffic before you apply for affiliate programs, as they would inspect those elements prior to approval.
Also, I would be less on analytics and more on adding content.

Hi, I run a backup every time I have made a change to the website, like design changes and of course every time WPress is updated.
I have also scheduled a backup once a week.

Other websites in the cooking/diet niches have recipes and Ive often wondered where did they get them or did these people create them from scratch? I am not sure if purchasing
I am no expert ; I heard years ago that if you are to claim a recipe you must be sure to change some of the ingredients to make it yours. Perhaps you could look on the internet for requirements to make your own cookbook.
I think you would want your recipes unique to you vs. copied or purchased so they stand out from the crowd.
You may have a specialty you want to follow upon.

People with food and cooking related websites, do you purchase recipes?

I ve tried to log into my email from site email from site manager and unable to log in. Do I have to issue a ticket to site support?
If you own a premium domain, you can.
Websites top menu > Site manager > Site Email

is this an email forward or an email with an inbox....
just tried one of mine and able to log in ok...
so check passwords and login name...
my login credentials don’t work.
