Gathering Shards- I have a following!
I have definitely made up my mind to go with My Secret Place as the website that I will work on building up first. I have only promoted that site for two days and I have followers reading "Gathering Shards" already!
I have decided to do the installments differently.
Instead of posting a new article for every installment, I am going to just keep adding to the original document. That way, I won't gum up my feed with a ton of unnecessary posts.
So, I have installment #3 written, but not typed. I plan to do that tomorrow. For those of you who are following the story, just scroll down and continue reading where you left off.
I have decided to turn this into a book at some point, so I want the document to be all in one place.
If you wish for me to notify you when a new installment has been posted, please leave me a URL that I can click on to find you in the comments below the article. That goes for any of the articles that I publish from here on out.
I have found an outlet, that is more valuable than money.
I am not concerned about making money with this site. If is happens, great; but right now, I am doing what I was born to do...and that is to WRITE!
I also have found my voice, and I think I will speak for millions of people like me, through My Secret Place.

This is a very good way to write a book, I might add.
This reminds of a true story i heard a few years ago. This person started writing a blog about his job and he gained A LOT of followers waiting for the next installment and then he got picked up by publishers and turned it into a book.
So you really do not know what is around the corner.
The hardest thing is to make a decision and stick to it.
I am proud of you and wish you much success.

Congrats on choosing a focus! I understand the need to contain all your writing in one place, I'm just not sure about updating an existing post over and over again as you add new content.
My mom actually just wrote a book, and the woman she had to do her photos for the book cover mentioned doing snippets or chapters of a book at a time as separate blog posts. That way, your existing followers should receive a notification when you post new content, and should a new follower find your current post, you could always include links back to the previous ones.
It's just a thought as I'm afraid one post alone will become quite cumbersome, and hard for people to find where they left off.

Your VirginiaBuffet site is a WordPress site, right? Linking is very easy. When you Add A new Post, You have the title, and then below it is the box where you add the content. Make sure you're in Visual mode, and not text mode. There is a little icon in the toolbar, looks like chain links, you just select the text you want to link, and add the web address you're linking to.
It looks like Kyle discusses affiliate linking in Lesson 3, but the linking process works the same, just the content you're linking works differently. I hope that makes sense. Adding Affiliate Links to Your Pages When you create links, you can easily link visitors back to previous posts that relate to existing content. Say you post 5 chapters. Someone new lands on Chapter 5, and likes what you wrote, you could always add links at the bottom of the content stating something along the lines of Here's what you missed and include separate links to each chapter. It could also be a good place to possibly get them to signup for a mailing list to be notified when new content is added. It's something you'll need to do some trial and error with to figure out what works best for your specific site.
