One domain, two URL's (website addresses). Are you tracking both?

How do you promote your website? Do you use www.yoursite.com or yoursite.com without the www. in front of your domain name?

Google tracks both ways and considers these as two different assets even though both addresses land you on the same page.

This affects indexing

....and authorship

....and tracking

....and partnership setup

I'm curious if those IM'ers that have been working the business for a while track both assets or just one variation?

Have to honest and say I do not really know how they work it out , would be interested to know though

I thought we were just using the "yoursite.com" one.

Never knew that. Thanks for asking the question Hunt!

I track them both, but try to only use the yoursite.com

Do you get both indexed?

1

No. It will only index one.
I am going to do the training that is linked below.
This is something I was going to do but ended up spacing it completely out.
Glad you asked this question.

There is a solution to that floating around
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/how-to-redirect-your-traffic-from-www-to-non-www-domain

I have not done that yet but looking into it. Should take care of the google confusion http:// versus www.
