Thanks for this post Erin.

I've included most items you've listed. But, there is one important item I've not included and that is Email opt-in.

But then there is one other, which is a Guest Blogger page. I read different opinions on allowing Guest Blogging. I would be interested to learn more about your experience with allowing Guest Blogging on your website.

It's so nice to see you, Valerie! I am just beginning my Guest Blogger page on both my sites. However, there are many here that have been very successful with it in drawing traffic.
XOXO

Great resource! This is just the kind of thing I like.

I would add ebooks and a freebie of value for your landing page. The ebook (or video tutorial) can be something you are knowledgeable about and you want to share that knowledge with others.

The freebie could be the ebook itself or something else, it just needs to have value.

Also, I created a list of blog post subjects related to my niche. I add to that list every time an idea occurs to me. That way when I run out of ideas I check my list and choose one of those topics to write about. Sometimes just going over the list will bring up fresh ideas.

A wonderful response, Donna! eBooks / freebie giveaways are definitely essential on one's site! I have them on mine, too. I use an email opt in to get subscribers, and in return, they receive my eBook.

I love your process of getting ideas for your blog posts---very clever! I will be adding all the suggestions here to this post! Great input!

Thank you for another excellent blog post-Erin, you have given everyone great ideas for a decent blast off for there new site! One of the great things about having a website is that there are many ways to monetise it.

I'm just in the process of reviving an old website and one of the ways a plan to monetise it is through affiliate links and to sell advertising to customers in a similar niche. This will take time as I need to build up the traffic to this particular website. I've done this before so I am confident that I can do it again.

Enjoy your weekend.

Hi Erin

Nice list!

One of the items that I have noticed by members starting out is when is the correct amount of time for signing up for affiliate programs.

I see some try doing it the minute their website is up with very few posts posted to develop traffic!

Have often wondered if there is a general rule of thumb to the number of posts or the desired amount of traffic before applying.

Onward and upward, have a great weekend!

Great question, Tim! Taking into consideration that Affiliates analyze your website when you apply, it is necessary to have it pretty established in order to get approved. Some underdeveloped sites may slide by, but it is smart to get some good content, photos, pages set up, etc., first. Here's another reason why----It will be in a prime position for adding the affiliate links!

All this will enhance your changes for approval.

So, when everything is set up and the traffic is happening, you'll be in a perfect position for conversions!

Happy weekend!

Interesting post, Erin and as you asked for contributions to how income is earned this is what I do.

Excuse the CAPS, I cant do bold.

On my WA blog, I have ADSENSE running and earning

I have a RESOURCES page, which includes ONLY those affiliate links that I personally use and have used for a number of years, which are a Mix of NONE SEO, attraction Marketing, AdBlogs, AutoResponders

I have a RECOMMENDED footer section, which relates to the Theme and brilliant ad ons I am using on my site.

I am currently researching an ad plugin which is used on a very well known site and that earns that site a lot of money, I am reviewing it as we speak

Then I write reviews on posts relating to Amazon Products, as we are shown here

Hope this helps,

That's great advice! Now with AdSense. Why do my ads show up in the most randomest places? Is there a way to change that sir?

Thanks Dave, I saw your resources page, I was curious about "This CopyWriting Course" you refer. It sent to EMP Attraction Marketing Formula - is that the one you recommend as "CopyWriting Course", If not, can you please PM me the direct link? Thanks John

Hi Nicholas! When you copy the ad codes from Adsense, to the sidebar (Appearance ---> Widgets) you can choose where to put them. Or, there is an Adsense plugin that is helpful, too.
