Dumbing down at Wealthy Affiliate?
WHAT IS INTELLIGENT OVERSIMPLIFICATION?
I like to think of "Dumbing down" as a form of intelligent oversimplification: The simplification of something to an extreme, that reaches more individuals---and the perfect definition of Wealthy Affiliate!
IN SIMPLISTIC FORM.
To simplify this, it is creating something easier to comprehend in order to draw in more people. Wealthy Affiliate "dumbs down" and simplifies the training for us in order to make it more attractive and more doable.
NOT THE SAME AS BEING OVERWHELMED.
I think some may mix this up with becoming overwhelmed at the amount of work and not that is is difficult. The work is fairly easy with the step-by-step guidance. The amount of work and the directions to take your website may alarm some.
"Dumbing down" with intelligent oversimplification, that in a true sense, means everything in the way of being productive.
WE ALL CAN SUCCEED!
Anyone can succeed here in terms of online wit when you follow each step. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to read and learn. Give yourself some credit where credit is due! Rise high and be in a league of your own! During the workload, take time to enjoy learning all you can. It may be a lot, but it certainly is simple---otherwise, there wouldn't be so many succeeding!

Hi Erin. I take Isabella’s point below. But I think the point you are making is important: to decide to succeed and device your own means to do so. One of the ways, which you point out, is to follow the learning, step by step. The point Isabella is making is that we should do that at our own pace, in accord with our abilities.
We all have our time at which we will succeed. And when that happens, then that is your time; that is your moment, no one else’s. The tools - and the support - are all there in this community for that to happen.

Hey, I have mentioned this before. I got a course that had all the necessary information to be a successful marketer, but it was way over my head. I could not understand enough of it to even begin to make a difference.

I thoroughly dislike the term 'dumbing down'. It has negative connotations even though you try to put a positive spin on it.
You are right that WA is a step by step process. Not everyone, however, especially the older generation, would agree with you that it is simple. There is so much to learn. Especially older people, who didn't grow up with such quickly changing technology, tend to struggle and find it anything but 'simple'.
You are right that everyone here can make progress and should be proud of their progress and what they achieve. We should just measure our own progress and not compare it with that of others. And we should enjoy the learning progress and take pleasure in what we create.

Right, the lessons are simple but the work on to write is the difficult one. It is not easy to write a quality content. If we just write what we want to write it is easier.
We all have that freedom to write what we want, making it easier for us. That's why choosing a niche you are passionate about is key! I sympathize with your answer and appreciate your input.

You bring well deserved attention to the creators of the training lessons. Breaking down information into something everyone can understand and apply is not an easy task.
People learn differently, some are better visual learners, others do better with hands on training and then there are those who comprehend written material easily, but have difficulty applying the information to practical use.
WA has done an incredible job in this respect by applying all three learning methods into the training.
