What Does Your Facebook Profile Say About You?

Last Update: July 03, 2020

Your FB profile, like your website, is your own piece of prime online real estate.

Does it look like a penthouse or the slums❓

Your profile needs to be congruent with your business and your personal brand.

Every piece of content you put out should have a reason to be on your profile and it should be of the highest quality you can produce.

Every post should be either:

✅ building the know, like and trust factor

✅ adding value to your audience; or

✅ generating leads.

When someone looks at your profile for the very first time what sort of impression are you giving by the content you produce❓

Are you professional❓

Do you look like someone that knows what they stand for❓

Do you look like someone who can help them❓

Go back through your last 20 posts and take a good hard look at how you are portraying yourself to your potential clients/customers.

If there are posts there that aren’t congruent with your biz or your brand, remove them.

Are you happy with how your profile portrays you or do you need to do some work to improve it❓

If you are not sure what types of content you should be posting or you are not getting the engagement you want drop me a PM, I will be only too happy to check out your profile and offer some tips to get your FB profile working for you, not against you.

Heidi...great post - Thank You!
My question to you is this. My profile right now is very much geared to friends and family and I tend to post some controversial posts...lol.
If I am not mistaken, you can have only 1 personal profile on FB?
When I get my MMO site up and running...should I just do a company page or start switching my personal page over to a business oriented profile?
Thanks and Have a Great Day!

Switch your personal profile to business orientation Chuck, personal profiles get much better reach than biz pages. If you want to use FB for organic traffic it has to be your personal profile.

FB wants biz pages to buy advertising and they simply don't show your page to many people to force you into doing that to get exposure.

Always keep in mind what FB wants and play by their rules and they will show your posts to the warm audience you want.

FB want:

People to stay on their platform, so use links only in your first comment not the body of the post

People to be entertained and engaged so write posts that create engagement in the form of likes and comments. It is known as the RVL Formula - results, value, lifestyle posts.

The FB algorithm knows everything you do on their platform, if you work with it it's gold.

Thanks Heidi, I don't put a great deal on Facebook and it's a platform I could use more.
