That was Quick

So, I was more than a little (pleasantly) surprised to log into WA this morning to see a notification that my site has already been indexed by google.

I have only posted my 'about me post' and the privacy policy Page. I have had a website indexed in the past, but I feel like it took a couple of months and more than a handful of posts for it to happen.

I don't know if there's any significance to how quickly google found me or not, but it's one of those little milestones that makes you feel like you're making progress towards your longer term goals.

Thought I would share. I appreciate this place.

Thanks, Jeff. I just remember with my last WA trip, it took months for my site to be indexed. Wasn’t sure if there was anything to read into that or whether it’s just how it goes with google.

You're very welcome, Haven! As I have always said, "Google is a fickle beast, so who knows?"

I’m just going to pretend that it’s because my niche is awesome and my writing is Shakespearean.

Is that ok?

That's perfectly okay! It might be the truth!

Yes index means what it is just that. Next is crawling your site. But to get ranked, you have to write a lot of content so you might see some content get indexed and others might not. You are at the mercy of what Google does when it does get around to your site. Once you follow the training on using low-hanging fruit keywords, that should help. You are correct it does take some time. Keep producing a lot of content. That should be your next step. Keep going.
