A Quick Facebook Marketing Guide

Optimize Your Profile

First, a quick recap...

  • Don't SPAM friends and family... or anyone else, for that matter.
  • Use content to position yourself as an authority in your niche.
  • Customize Your Cover Photo... turn it into a magnet that attracts website visitors.

Your Facebook cover photo is just ONE of the five steps necessary to fully optimize your Facebook profile to work for you 24/7 in attracting new leads for your Wealthy Affiliate business.

Here's the entire list...

  1. Cover Photo
  2. Profile Picture
  3. Bio Link
  4. Intro Section
  5. Featured Photo

With all 5 of these combined together your Facebook Profiles becomes a powerful funnel to generate new leads and customers.

Here's a photo diagram of all 5 profile items:

First, we covered the creation of your cover photo quite thoroughly in Part 3...

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/gmmf/blog/free-methods-to-ma...

So then, let's move on to the second item... your profile picture.

Your Profile Picture...

I see people all the time with everything but a quality photo on their profile.

First of all, you need a picture of YOU... not your cat, or your car, or your grandkids... YOU!

The photo should be a portrait photo of your face only... not a full figure image.

The photo needs to help people recognize YOU!

You should be wearing clothes that represent you as a business personality... so, NO T-Shirts, swim wear, crazy hats... you get the idea.

Your Bio Link...

Your Bio link should simply be your website URL... it will be clickable, so make sure you include the https:// part of your URL.

I have seen some people also include their website's tagline as well.

For instance, mine is "Help... NOT Hype!"

Your Intro Section...

Your Intro Section is a great place to place your website links. They will be clickable if you include the https://.

You can also add other important information such as your location. If you add a workplace, put self-employed.

Your Featured Photo...

Here is an item that, until I was researching for this article, I didn't know existed. I reworked my cover photo into a square image so there is continuity there, but that's not mandatory... it could be a completely different image. But, once again, be sure to link to your website or squeeze page when people click on it.

How do you do that? Refer back to the discussion in part 3.

How To Edit Your Profile Items...

The last question I anticipate is how to edit these 5 items... easy, just be sure you are logged into Facebook, and then click on your name, usually at the top left of your news feed.

The items will have an edit button, like "Edit Cover Photo" and "Edit Profile". Your Profile Picture has a little camera icon. Your Intro has an "Edit Details" button below it, and your Featured Photo has an "Edit Featured" button below it.

As always, I welcome your comments, and if you have any questions, just ask.

In the next installment of this series we will look at marketing on other Social Media.

Is this a fan page or business page? I always get confused between the 2 or is it a personal profile? Let me know.

Fan pages and business pages are the same thing... fan pages being the original terminology, but now they are called business pages. I am using a personal profile for my marketing purposes, but either will work. All of my examples are personal profile pages.

Great advice. I'll give these a try.
