Your Comment is not original

To my surprise this was the notification I received after leaving a comment on the site comment page. I was really surprised because I would never think of copying a comment from somewhere else to leave for someone who is "paying" credits for it.

But how can this happen? I decided to rewrite my comment, which in my view WAS original and the same thing came up again!!

Has this ever happened to anyone else?

So that will be the end of my comment writing for tonight - I will despite this of course continue to give comments on site comments.

Feel free to leave your comments though if you like :)

Can't think of why this would happen, Vee, after two completely original efforts!
Are the bots having a holiday?
Sure a person would have recognized the originality.....

maybe they are on holiday - pre thanksgiving :)

Hi Vee,

Yes, I have had that message before when commenting on others webpages.

then i am not alone :)

Makes me less interested in providing comments, because as stated, it is very time consuming and you are providing what you think will be an opportunity for the site owner to interact with you.

my post was about the fact that WA sent me the notification that my comment was a duplicate and NOT THE PERSON whose site i was commenting on.
I would have had no problem if that had been their feedback - we are all entitled to our own opinion.

This is being conquered one understanding person at a time Vee. Just keep on as you are doing and you will find more positive returns

thanks my friend

Yes I had one bounce back. I did not understand the subject of the content so I commented on the neat appearance and the eye appeal. I guess that wasn't what they wanted. Now I'm a little gun shy.

There's no need to be gunshy. You just need to know the difference between comments and feedback.

A comment relates to the content of the article that you're commenting on. Because they don't respond to the article's content, discussing a site's appearance and eye appeal are classed as feedback, not comments.

There have been quite a few blogs and discussions about the difference between the two.

na, keep commenting - one mistake does not merit giving up.
and i would say, only comment on sites you are interested in and have something to say about, otherwise it is not authentic.

thank you but i did not feel i was being gunshy - i am really ok with it.
It was not my comment i was relating to but to the fact that it said my comment was copied, which it was not.

i was wanting to know if this is something others experience or if it happens often

Early on in my relationship with WA I left a did not understand the difference between feedback and comments and was prevented from commenting for about a month because my feedback at the comment site was not appropriate. It was frustrating, but I appreciate the fact that there are standards here.

yes standards help to guide us that is true, and there have been many who got it mixed up. as far as i see it, we are all learning and all make mistakes. it was not that i mixed the two up but that
WA sent me a notification that my comment was a duplicate.... that is what surprised me

Hi Vee no it hasn't happened to me but I did get a kinda attitude reply from someone I gave feedback too. I was just giving my opinion and it was nothing mean but I did notice that everyone was leaving it's great and perfect so I guess my feedback wasn't welcomed. Oh well I have always been honest when someone asks for my opinion and will keep being that way. Have a great week, Vee.

thanks Carol

This happened to me because I left a comment on the SiteComment platform instead of on the SiteFeedback platform.

While I believe my comment was "original" it was "not relevant". A mistake I won't make again.

as long as we learn from mistakes, there is nothing wrong with making them
have a good week my friend

You too Valina.

Thanks for sharing, Vee.

welcome babes

Weird but funny too.

love that you can always see the light side of things dear Mike. thanks
