Where has my mojo gone?
Has anyone seen my mojo? I left it here a couple of weeks ago and when I returned, it was gone. I always thought having one's mojo meant having energy, creativity and passion. I've always loved words, their meaning and their origin. So I decided to find the definition of mojo to make sure that I actually had a mojo and, if I did, was I using it properly?
Much to my surprise I found several definitions of the word. The original definition means a charm, spell or talisman to produce good luck. That would definitely be helpful. Another more current definition says that your mojo is your sex appeal! Nothing like that around here; looked in my desk, under my bed, in the closet and no sex appeal mojo to be found! Then I found a definition in the Cambridge Advanced Learner's Dictionary and Thesaurus that the definition of mojo is a quality that attracts people to you and makes you successful and full of energy. Voila! That's it! That's the one I lost!
So, my WA family, to make a long story short, On August 19th I had major dental surgery and for the past two weeks, in the process of recuperating, I actually did lose my mojo. I am finding it very difficult to get that "fire in the belly" attitude back that I had pre-surgery. I think what I need is a good swift kick in the rear to get me motivated. So, my WA friends, your mission, should you choose to accept, is to do just that! KICK AWAY!!!!

Dentist here....There is actually scientific research that has shown that recovering after dental surgery can feel like 'losing ones mojo' There is a natural depletion of the immune system and a reduction in 'happy hormones' after physical trauma to the body. There is a rise in Cortisol which can be akin to being hit by a truck.
Make sure you are well rested, eat well and by that I mean fish, greens and fruit and keep hydrated.
Don't force the hard work ok, chill take it easy and your mojo will return.
Very funny blog though LOL
I visualise you scouring your house looking.....LOL
Thank you Mike, for that information. I'm glad I made ya'll laugh. That makes me happy!!
Very intriguing and compelling writing. You need to share your insights more and a website is the perfect venue. Find your mojo, people need to hear from you. And you had dental surgery on my birthday??? Well, I guess I wasn't the only one in pain that day :)
Thanks Rick and happy belated birthday! I really value everyone's knowledge and help here in WA.
My incantation for you: I send you fire, the fire of desire, the ability to achieve dreams, and to rely on your WA family for help
G'day, Laura! How about a little hug and a kiss on the cheek? Electronic, from here... Your mojo is still there - it was just having a rest while you recovered. :) george
whack, I hope that helps. I can relate to the problem we have to really decide what we want to accomplish and focus on that one thing one step at a time.

Interesting. I had some fairly significant surgery three weeks ago and for two weeks after I didn't feel like doing much, just made a few notes. Then at the end of the two weeks I started to really feel better and one afternoon I was back on track. I think the thing we all need to realise is that surgery is a major issue for your body and it needs time to heal, and your brain is giving this top priority whilst that is happening. Well as a non- medic that's my theory anyway. Hope you are soon better, and back on track.
Hudson.
Thanks Hudson, I am feeling much better and starting to get that spark back. thanks for the insight.
