How many backlink generate traffic?
Ahh yes, the question that is on everyone mind is How do you generate traffic to your website or blog? Many first-time bloggers assume that you make a few posts, submit your blog to the search engines and traffic will come naturally. It's not that simple and it takes a little more work than just that.
what is your advice on this?

Hi - as Partha has mentioned, this information is out of date, and the reason for that is, that the majority of it is copied and pasted from a blog post written in 2012. I suggest you remove this post, as everything on WA has to be original and written in your own words.

Aahhh, now it makes sense.
My assumption was that the "facts" had been garnered from a very old article, although I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, and hope that they don't "copy and paste" other people's content (even if it is completely wrong, out of date, and defunct).
Perhaps, I'm too trusting.

Hi there,
Some of these methods are great for creating an online presence and generating traffic.
However, I'm afraid to say that many of the methods you have outlined are seriously outdated.
In fact, I stopped using at least 3 of these nearly a decade ago.
Technorati was great when it was available.
But, it stopped indexing blogs in 2014 and was acquired by Synacor is 2016.
Therefore, it is no longer available.
"Ping" services and directory submissions worked fairly well, but don't hold the same clout anymore.
In fact, many blogging platforms now have in-built pinging services (sumbitting your sitemap), which will alert various directories of new material.
Plus, you can request indexing via Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools.
I regularly receive traffic from Ecosia, Yandex, and DuckDuckGo and have never submitted anything specifically to them.
As for article directories, I spent 3 years earning a full-time income solely from article directories.
However, after the Panda and Penguin Google updates of 2011 and 2012 respectively, article directories no longer have the same effectiveness.
I would always advise anyone to publish to their own site first.
If you're looking to syndicate content then this should be done via a site such as Medium (dot) com and not an article directory.
My sincere apologies for commenting on this, but this appears to be advice from pre-2014.
SEO can typically change quite dramatically within the space of a year.

As always Partha thank you for your advice. BTW although google haven't picked me up yet. After following your advise I have managed to gain lots of first page searches on Bing. Including several snippet page one rankings.
I believe your methods will help with my rankings when Google do finally pick my site up.

I've had a huge number of PMs regarding my methods and I'm hearing the same thing.
"Your way definitely works, but I haven't been picked up by Google yet, but I'm ranked in Bing and receiving traffic from Bing".
Perhaps, I'm due another blog post once I've studied why this happening. Lolol
However, I think it probably has more to do with the age of your (and other member's) sites.
But, I'm so glad it's working for you Steve.
I've had some great messages.
Someone has even just tried my method once on ONE article a month ago,
The article ranked in Bing immediately and has been resposnible for 50% of their traffic in the last month.
Someone else has also stated that they haven't had any traffic for almost a year, I picked out two keywords for them, they wrote the articles, and are now receiving their first amount of traffic ever (even hitting 50 visitors a day).
So, yep, I may go slightly (a lot) against the training, but it definitely works.

Hi Partha yes it is to do with the age of the site mine being 5 months old I am not expecting Google to pick it up until early next year. Until then it is Bing all the way. 41 page one rankings so I am getting there.
As you can see there is an upward curve were before hand no real traffic
