My experience at Wealthy Affiliate - week 25

I wish I could start with saying I have published a lot this week, but the reality of the matter is I HAVEN'T.

Time wasted, NOT!

This afternoon I am aiming to publish my only post put together so far this week. In an ideal world, I could possibly start writing what should be my second post of the week, but I am not sure I'll manage to fit it in.

Yet, I do not feel I wasted my time this week.

Finally, I manage to boost again my Social Media Jukebox accounts. I might do a little training on this new tool in future. It is completely free of charge (although like here, it does have a premium option), but it enables me to have up to 5 posts or reviews published automatically on both my 2 Twitter and my Facebook accounts. And I believe that this system in the past has helped attract traffic to my sites. So, I revamped this way of marketing.

Three posts, 4500 words

That's as much as I have typed and put together in terms of my writing. Only, not on my websites!

Yes, I did write in excess of 4500 words this week, for an equivalent of 3 posts. But it was in fact for a long dissertation I put together on anti-social behaviour linked to certain types of accommodation - it is a work related project I am involved with, and which this week has sucked out of me all my creative writing skills. But it surely made me understand that I am no longer afraid of writing. In fact I love it!!

What next?

I have worked out that, if I worked at this business full time, I would do my writing in the morning, and my marketing in the afternoon. But this is the ideal world I am aspiring to.

My reality for now is still far from this, as the only time to work in this venture is mostly evenings and weekend. But my 'other' life still gets in the way.

I can only but keep trying harder than hard. Write more, publish more, market more. And of course, not neglect Bootcamp!!

This month so far has seen a neat decline in my Amazon sales and in my traffic. Is it because people start spending more time on outdoor activities, or because I need to step it to a higher notch?

The reason is not as important. But what is important is that, like you, I do not let temporary failure deter me from my main goal: establishing my successful home based online business.

Thanks Giulia for the update. It's a pity you can't use those 4500 words for your online business.

Who knows Eric, may for my next website... on social housing... one day... No, I'm kidding, that's work only!!

Thanks for sharing, Giulia.

I hope you are right Pablo. I think Amazon has spoilt me so far #lol

Good afternoon Giulia,

I agree with Luthor, I have started this rhythm some time ago to write a post per week for each of my websites. For me that is pressure enough, there is also another life out there you know.
Have you seen my latest WA post on Refugees Welcome? there you can meet my US Expat.

Have a nice Sunday, Taetske

I'll have a look right away Taetske. You know how I enjoy your blogs :)

Hi Giulia

I don't think you wasted your time. I purposely take time to think about my next writing project. As ideas come to me I write them down. Eventually I sit down and start writing.

At least 2 people pointed out to me some wise thoughts about writing posts. One of them said that he thinks it's more effective to publish posts and then let them ride for a while. Give them a chance to be noticed.

The second wise person pointed out that it's very difficult to publish decent posts more than once a week. That's 52 posts a year. That would represent an incredible amount of work. You probably wouldn't have time for anything else.

That's what I started to do and it took off a lot of pressure.

Luthor

My target, as of last week Luther, has reduced to 2 posts a week. And a week after that, I've already fallen behind!!! But you are probably right. The general advice here is to publish every other day or thereabout, and I agree that the more we write, the more our websites get noticed, whether for good or for bad reasons #lol but maybe slower but sure is the right approach when not working on this venture full time.

Yes Giulia. If work is pleasure it is never wasted!

Well said Mike :)

Congratulations! Thanks for sharing.

Well, thank you for reading :)
