How is your diction in your posts? (a short blog)
Hello everyone! I just got done completing and uploading a post onto my website. The particular post was a tough one to battle through, but I am so glad that I finally got it done by the end of the week. On to the next topic, right?
Have you ever noticed that when you are working on content, you tend to use certain descriptive words/phrases over and over again? It can be very frustrating, to say the least, when you complete a post only to find out that multiple descriptive words/phrases have been used over and over again.
Needless to say, vocabulary repetitiveness is not a road that is favorable for any of us, if we desire to have major traffic visit our respective websites. Now the one thing that I have been doing to address this, has been to use synonym replacement for descriptive words or phrases, throughout my post.
For example, let's say that you find that you used the phrase "in particular" 6 times in a post. To some, that might be a phrase that was used 5 times too much. In that case, just go to Google or any other search engine and type in " 'in particular' synonyms". Google will then return a short/long list of similar phrases that can be used as replacements for 5 of those 6 instances that the phrase was used.
You can begin to surely appreciate the tremendous opportunity that presents itself, for you to really diversify your diction within your posts.
I am going to assume that many of you are already doing this, so I just might be late to the party here. But for those of you who may be struggling, hopefully this can be a useful implement for you as well, to make your posts resonate with a diversity of descriptive words and phrases!
( Even in the creation of this blog post, I used the Google synonym tool for a number of words. :-)) )
Thanks for checking this out, everyone!
Paul

This is very helpful advice, Paul. It's never occurred to me that Google could be so helpful.
I don't have a problem with synonyms due to using Grammarly premium, but should I decide to move on from that resource, I'm now aware of how Google can help in that respect.

Checking out synonyms is a great way to prevent us from repeating what we say too often Paul!
Even as an English teacher, I perform this act on a regular basis my friend! :-)
Excellent idea Paul, thanks for sharing this!
I must admit I have not thought of doing this and will do in the future.
Kind regards
Erica

Hey, Paul. I enjoyed your article, and you are so right. I could not live without these writing tools, beginning in the old days with a paperback thesaurus. By the way, your blog piece was written very well.
Thank you very much for your kind words, deelilah! I also remember those paperback thesauruses (or is it thesaurii?? lol!)
