If you are stuck for ideas - try this
If you are stuck for ideas in your writing or for your niche, try this:
1. Look around you - what have you gathered around you because you like or love them? These are the things you are interested in: the things you take pleasure from and the things you probably know what to write about most. It could be a pot plant, a photograph, your children, your car, a location, a book on your bookshelf or just the clothes you are wearing. Look again at what you have already collected and you will remind yourself about things you already know.
2. Move to a different place/room, and then look again. Do the same exercise of looking around but from a different perspective. I tend to sit in the same place on the sofa, looking at the TV and my room from the same place everyday. But if I move, then I can suddenly look out of the window and see the birds, the neighbours, the cat on top of my car. These are things that I know exist but which I don't 'see' anymore because they are too familiar. If I look at them from a different angle, or new perspective, then I can open up my creativity.
3. Get a book, any book and open it. Ask for inspiration and it will be given! Open the book at a random page. Now I don't believe in coincidences, only in causations, so I believe that you will read or see something that is of value (even if you don't recognise it at the time). However, try it and see what the universe present you with. You never know what will be revealed.
4. Ask yourself - "What was the last problem I solved or who did I last help?" Who did you last help and how? Was it that you gave your children some advice? Did you change a lightbulb or did you know how to dead head your flowers? If you can think about who you last helped, then you can tap into the information you already know and start from there.
5. Play word association. You know how this one goes: you start with any word (like 'car' or 'house' or "toy') and then write down the next word that comes into your head - and then then next, and the next and so on. If you do this quickly you may find yourself going off in a direction that your inspiration is taking you. Allow it and see what unfolds.
You may not find anything that helps here......but then again.......just a few ideas.
Wishing you all a great evening......have fun.

I tried that exercise by looking at different characters going into a medical center Elizabeth. You come up with some great ideas!
Ha ha - good job I don't have video link, that's all I can say. I look like a right Charlie at the moment!
Ahhhhh ......get it. Sorry - it was very late last night and my brain was on a go slow! In any case, I would probably have replied 'food' - not that I would eat my cats you understand but it's more a reflection of my own state of mind and my shopping list!
Get with the program Gail :) Then I would have replied.."recipe"..
Happy shopping trip..don't forget that cheeky bottle of red!
No..bottle of wine! I think we're really going to have to work on our word associations lol
