Would you pay a ghostwriter to write on your blog?

Alright, so I've been looking into this matter for a while now and I have decided that I will go through with having someone else than me, writing a new blog, for a payment. A so-called Ghostwriter. I will do this alongside my own current blog.

The reason I'm going down this road is because I want to grow faster than I am at this moment. And as I am quite new to the affiliate- and blogging world, I have very much to learn and not enough time to research & write on my blogs, with my full-time job as well as my private life eating up most of my time.

I have no experience with Ghostwriters or Freelancers, but with the help from people here at Wealthy Affiliate, I have found a few places where to learn more, and I would like to share the places who connects writers and entrepreneurs as ourselves:

https://www.elance.com

https://www.upwork.com/

http://www.iwriter.com/

https://www.fiverr.com/

This is how it works if you are looking for a freelance writer -

1. You post a job, describing what your project is about, what kind of writer you want, and what your budget is.

2. When your post is up on the site, freelancers (writers, graphic designers, or whatever you need) will give you a proposal, where they will tell you about themselves and why you should hire them for the project, and what their price will be for the whole project or the cost per hour that they charge.

3. You award ONE writer that you think would suit your project the best, and with Elance, you can create a milestone (a goal that you both agree on) and put money into the "escrow" (this is a program to make sure the freelancer delivers a satisfying service for you). After you approve all the work for that milestone you release the escrow (and then the freelancer receives your money). They cannot touch the money until you personally release it.

Elance is where I found my 2 writers, and actually quite cheap. But it is said that you get what you pay for, so it took me some time to find these 2, and I find them both experienced and they both have previous work that looks excellent, and also reviews from other clients who have used them before.

My next step is to find keywords for them to write about and then I will be on my way.

If you have any experience with ghostwriters, please share your story, or if you have any questions or anything you want to comment, just drop a line down below. :)

Thanks!

Jonas

I write at many article brokers, so I know you can find some GREAT writers; You can also find some very bad ones, as well.

It is something that I thought of doing. I am struggling in writing content coz im not really good at it. :) But as of the time being, I will try to make my own content.

I have one that write for me whenever I need on site and is pretty reasonable too. :))

Cool! Do you think you are getting value for the money you put out?

I think it is well worth it as I get to do my other stuff that I wish to do, lol. :))

That's what I'm looking forward to as well! :)

Honestly mate, I've written for a couple of "Content Mill" style websites over the past five years - and they treat their writers like S##T most of the time. Don't do it, please take the time to improve your writing skills and create your own content instead.

I'm sorry to hear that, Simon. I hope that not all writers are treated as bad as you were. I will certainly not treat anyone bad. I will try this, though, so I get my own experience out of it, but thanks for sharing, much appreciated :)

Very interesting.Didn't think about it yet but maybe someday I will.. When I start making some money perhaps

I hope that is soon, Erik! Good luck :)

I know many people start their career on those sites but I think overall you'll find the standard is quite low on those sites. I started my freelance writing career there very briefly and found it a horrible experience as a writer and since then most freelance writers I've spoken to say they wouldn't touch them.

What were your experiences, What was bad? what was good? (if any). Is it just bad for the writers, and if so, why, or is it bad for both parts?

I don't have much experience with these sites yet, so any insights would be much appreciated. :)

I have asked some people here on WA to write for me, and they agreed and Yes I am paying.

I ask for guest writers for photographic posts, those I am not paying, they write their own piece and have the opportunity to place it with own links on my freeimages website.

And I have contacted ghost writers, those I am paying, but they write pieces with instruction, what I want

Hi Loes, thanks for answering!
How long have you had experience with hiring writers for you? And do you have blogs where they write all the content or do you just use them when you don't have time to write?
And do you know how common it is to use freelancers as a blogger?
Sorry for throwing all these questions at you, I'm just SO curious.. :)

I use them when I have earned some money:)
They write all content, but I do the pictures and add links.
I use them for articles I don't know a thing about and they do.
I have time enough, but a lack of knowledge

Alright, sounds like a good idea :) How did you find who to write for you?

Just send a PM and ask if they want to do it, ask for their pricing and make a deal - You know who the toppers are here and what their specialty is. The price range is between $15 - $50 per 500 words minimum for each article.

Thanks for the info and help, Loes! Much appreciated :)
