Hi everyone! I need advice on this one.
I currently have a domain www.simplecraftprojectsforkids.com</
You've been doing this for a while now and you have a good amount of content. I'd keep the same domain name and perhaps use the new name for a slightly different niche - maybe for adults instead of kids. There's no reason why you can't have 2 domains, just don't spread yourself too thin.
That is a good point. You are right there. I just thought i wanted a shorter domain. But if its the case, I'm giving this a lot of thought. Thanks so much.
Tough call. All your current posts and pages are connected and indexed by the search engines with the original.
Also, your keywords "craft projects for kids" are in the original. IF those are your chosen keywords, I would keep it as it is.
If those keywords are not, then you "could" use a Redirect in DNS to point traffic to the new one. But, you will need to wait a month or two to see how your new website (and keywords) work out. I like the shorter one and I've done this in the past, but it does slow down your wanted search traffic until things kinda kick back in.
I might really do this but i need to think this through as it affects the traffic. Thanks for the advice. Now i know that I really have the option.

Is it a good idea to change domain?

You have a nice site with a content relevant domain name. So, wonder why you have the intention to change it as the second domain name seems more in general. Moreover, there are a number of contents been created and indexed by search engine.
I would prefer to keep the same domain. Anyway, just my personal opinion as you may have a good reason to change it.

I am getting ping back comments when I add links on my site. I deleted the previous, is it the right thing to do? How do I deal with it?
Thanks
