Making a You Tube Video

Have you tried making an off the cuff video and uploaded it to You tube?

Its a bit scary because you can't easily be looking at a script and as an older person the brain may not be as sharp as it once was so you might fnd yourself losing your train of thought.

However I think you just have to put your fears aside and give it a go. If you don't like it then scrap it and start over.

I have just completed my second attempt and perhaps by the time I do 6 or 7 I might have it down pat. The important thing on any journey is to take the first step.

Zig Ziglar said and I quote

"You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great."

I have started so even if the quaity is not right up there, I have taken that first step and made an impromptu video. Now that I have done that I would simply love some feedback from those who might take a look.

If you know some older folks looking to stretch themselves in their retirement, you might like to share it with them, or perhaps you yourself are that older person.

You might be feeling nervous about featuring yourself on a video for all the world to see. I hope it will help allay your fears and you too will give it a go.

How Did I Make My Video?

I simply opened up the video recorder on my telephone and started to chat to it as I would to anyone of you were we face to face.

Then I hit the share button below the video from my gallery and uploaded it to You Tube.

Once in You Tube I tried to edit it but found it was better left as the original unaltered video so reverted to that.

I added some description and pressed publish. Thats all there was to it.

Now to show you the real thing, un edited just as it was recorded .

Please take a look and leave me your thoughts.

Way to go! From one Judy to another...very well said. I, on the other hand, would only think of doing a video if I didn't have my face involved..ugh..photogenic I am not, but vain I seem to be. I am trying to do the things you mentioned, but I am finding it harder than I expected, possibly due to the fact that a lot of things are going on in my family at the moment..whatever the reason..this is hard for me..and I USED to think was reasonably intelligent!! HA! I am going to be 72 this year, and my memory is not bad, but my thought processes seem to be all over the place. Keep up the good work, and I will try to emulate you!

Thank you Judy the Irish Lassie. We are a year apart.
(71 this year) You would think life would get easier when we reach this age but not so. We still have children with needs and grand children and great grand children. Our own health and physical fitness is not what it used to be and we are expected to be involved in local community because we are retired and have loads of spare time Yes?
My hubby had his third heart attack this week and survived it but that has meant more running around. But like you I am trying to build an online business and I hope it works well for both of us.

Thanks Judy. I'm sorry your husband is still having heart attacks. That's so terrible. We were lucky, in that we caught my husband's heart condition in time to prevent an actual heart attack. I coerced him into going to the doctor, who sent him to a cardiologist (on my birthday), where we found out he needed an angiogram, or heart Cath. The cardiologist wasn't able to complete it because he found that Gill's heart was heavily diseased, it is called a Widow Maker, and apparently one of the worst heart conditions.
The reason I am going into detail is to tell you how well he is recovering. I pray that your husband can do the same. Quite frankly, I'm feeling overwhelmed, by all of this, as well as the change in our financial situation. You are grasping the whole concept of this internet marketing better than I. I was up until nearly 5 a.m. writing. Now I have to get it published to my website..lol..with my luck it will end up on the blog posts. Thanks for replying, and yes, we do have a lot of things to do..distracted learning is rough. Keep up the good work.

Nice video to introduce that you can do this either to just put your voice and opinions out there or use it for a source of income shared in a very relaxed way.

Thank you Mary The worst thing about doing this is wondering what friends will have to say.

I totally get that, part of my own fears around just doing it. Will people think I really have anything valuable to share, will I look stupid. The inner critic really comes up strong when you try to get out of your comfort zone. So good for you for taking that step,

Checked out your video and thought you did a great job, I hope it brings you many affiliates!

Thank you Lind, I hope it does too. It gets harder as you get older and its hard putting yourself out there.

I understand completely!

very real and effective. good work.

Thanks Steven, totally un rehearsed, what you see is what you get.

That video must bring in truckloads of retiries :) I loved it, Judy

Thanks Loes, its a strange feeling talking to your phone with no one responding. I hope it works because I need something to work.

Share it on Social media:))

Great Video! You have inspired me to do one, thanks.

Thank you dchapman. You will do fine because I think men always come across better on video. Give it a go and share with me.
Cheers

I just watched the video, and you did an excellent job on it. You were relaxed and just talking to a friend, and that was great. I give you two thumbs up on it.

Thank you so much Marmar, its not so easy just talking to a phone like that. But I think if I had a script it would have been too stilted.
When I watch people like Todd and Leah Rae speak I see there is such an advantage in being young and attractive.

You are so very welcome and you can still be attractive as an older person. You did really well without the script like you say it would have been stilted. The way you did it was very natural and more on a friend to friend basis and that was great.

That is great news that you made your first video. That is awesome and I will take a look at it too. Great job

Excellent first attempt, I enjoyed it and left a comment as well. Very Natural

In fact I might even try this way myself as I am a big YouTube user and fan of

Hey Judy! Great job. Now if you could just convince your husband to slow down.....

Hope that you're both doing well.

Thanks Bryan. I have to get this paying then he can quit, but even so I don't think he will be giving up farming anytime soon.

I've been told that it's in the blood. I know someone that farms and their father is still in the fields every year at 87! He doesn't work as many hours, but he just loves the feel of working the earth.
