About FranMan
Joined November 2016
Having been on WA for a few weeks, Ild like to think that I'm beginning to get a handle on things. I have written a Bio before, but it bored me, so here's a newer, more positive slant on things!!
I'm 48, looking to develop new ideas and to build a better, and freer future for myself, and those around me.
I realised I'm too harsh on myself, so this new bio should appear to be more positive. Tell me what you think.
I'm Google Indexed with buildingthemindandbody.com, now looking to develop websites on Men Over 45 fashions, and therugbyapparelshop too. Will let you know when they go live!
So happy here on WA! Good luck to everyone, and newbies in particular. You won't regret the investment in yourself.
Francis.

Hi again James it’s a good idea (only if you want to) to click the 'Like' icon within a comment if you like it as I have done with yours.
Obviously you don't have to click every single comment or you will be here all day doing nothing but.
But to click the ones you like that are replies to your own comments will be reflected in your WA ranking because it shows you are getting involved with the community.
Enjoy your day.

Full Name is James Francis, long story but everyone calls me Francis, or variants upon my name, like Franny, FranMan or even Fungus.

Ok but members would wonder why you have a different name.
I don't, just curious.
I am fanatical about my personal details on the internet and use several names.
They are all family names so I'm allowed to use them
Robert Allan isn't the name on my birth certificate.
I'm off now and get home for some eats.
Maybe catch you later.

Hello James,♫Welcome! Nice to meet you ツ I wish you a lot of learning pleasure and fun on WA. Thank you for following me.

From the start, I have written training for every issue I had problems with myself. I also made a list of 1001 niche ideas, a checklist with 25 points to go through before you publish a post, 101 blogging ideas when you get stuck and an A-Z WA dictionary. I just love lists:) It has been very helpful to a lot of people. I have listed them in one blog you can find on my profile. It's the first website link on the right (click on my picture to get there). I hope to help you with those.

If you have any questions, please add a comment to this message or leave them on my profile.
Success building your business in 2016-2017. See you around, Greetings Loes

I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.

Get back to me when you get the chance! :)

Niches, I've got a few ideas yes.
My passion is Rugby Union- it's a sport a lot of Americans don't understand or know about, but it's huge worldwide. I love coaching it. I love NLP, so some psychology there.
I've seen an affiliate website for a supplier or rugby apparel.
Basically I'm sports mad.
Reply

If you love Rugby then you would have seen the All Blacks get beaten recently. I mean wtf - I didn't see that coming.

Whilst I'm not a big Rugby fan, I am a Kiwi and live in New Zealand so anytime there's a big game with the All Blacks playing, I'm all over it.

Anyway ...

I wouldn't have thought that there wouldn't be much scope in selling Rugby products online, but looks like there are a few affiliate programs that you could join that will allow you to earn a commission off of traffic from your website.

http://www.worldrugbyshop.com/
http://www.hugerugby.com/PartnerSetUp.aspx

and one in the UK.

http://www.lovell-rugby.co.uk/affiliates.htm&referrer;=

I know there is plenty of scope for NLP and Personal development products, but either way you go, you'll need to do a bit more digging into the niches to clarify your direction.

I developed an exercise that might help you to clarify the direction of your niche. This will hopefully help you to understand the content direction of your website with any of the three niches you mentioned.

Be sure to do all four exercises.

Here's the link.

Let me know if you have any questions / feedback on the exercise.

Hope that helps. :)

Best,
Frank

Hi Frank, actually I'm Irish, so last weeks score was pleasant & unexpected for sure! I live for 2 years in NZ- Palmerston North & Mount Maunganui. Loved the country, culture, but it was "too far from my mummy" as my now ex-wife said!

Ok, I wasn't as specific about rugby. Coaching - the mental & physical side of coaching appeals to me, hence my interest in NLP.

Yes, I've read your exercise. Due to my dyslexia I will have to read it again, to let it sink in.

I really appreciate you taking the time to write and "mentor" me during the early days. Of course all advice from an experienced WA person helps.

Best wishes, Francis.

Arhhh yes, the luck of the Irish. :)

Well, I guess they were the better team on the day.

So in terms of coaching, once you've taken in the information in the exercise I gave you, you want to quickly find relevant affiliate programs in your niche, so that you can get some sort of direction into how you might make money with it. (i.e.) What types of product / services you might promote. Think more global as opposed to a local audience.

So to find relevant affiliate programs check out this training. Usually I wouldn't tell people to jump a head of lessons, as the sequence of lessons have been designed to build upon the last, however I believe it is a good idea to get an understanding of how you might approach the niche, if you know what is out there to promote.

So use this information to get a handle on how to find relevant affiliate programs for your niche, but then go back to where you left off your previous lesson.

This is how I would approach it.

Anyway, let me know if this was helpful or not, or whether you prefer to just stay the current course.

Catch up soon.

Hey Frank. I hope that you aren't living too close to Christchurch? That city has seen so much devastation

I plan to complete Level 1 first, work my way through the exercises, and then revisit your advice, which I have read already, but will want to ensure I know what the heck I'm doing first.

All advice is helpful, it's just whether we accept others knowledge 1st though.

Hey James,

We live in the heart of Christchurch, so although we felt the earthquake, we are 1.5hrs away from the epicenter and 4 hours away from the worst hit area - Kaikoura. So we know first hand what those guys are going through.

Anyway, yes, you can tackle the completion of the lessons that way if you like, as everyone has different learning styles, but it is important to nail down your niche as soon as possible as this drives all of your decisions going forward.

Hey Frank, Thanks for getting back to me re Earthquake. I'm so pleased to hear that you and your family are safe.
I'm very much a "stick-to-the-rules/guidelines" kinda guy.It took me over a week to actually go online and start my course! My past & dyspraxia don't help me in it.
Yes, my first blog was too wide, quite non-specific, so will narrow that down. I know my first few websites will teach me loads, and I'm not expecting miracles for a while, but I will get there for sure.
Thanks for letting me know you are safe, I was genuinely worried.

I appreciate your thoughts and well wishes James - thank you. :)

It's important to know that you don't have to get everything right in the beginning, in fact knowing what NOT to do, is equally as important as knowing what to do. So gaining momentum with the lessons is something to focus on.

Fortunately the lessons are going to be your best guide into knowing what to do, so you're not going to get a whole lot wrong.

From our interactions so far, I have no doubt that you'll get there my friend.

I look forward to your success. :)

Thanks Frank. I've completed Level 1, now contemplating going Live with my website. Now this is where I get confused. The channels/ streams are they meshed within my own website or not, or do I need multiple websites to do this?
Anyway, glad you are well and safe!

What do you mean by channels and streams?
Reply
FranMan Premium
Ok, wrong terminology. Does each niche program filter into 1 website, or does each niche idea need it's own separate website? Does this make sense? If not do say so, as I know you will.
Reply
affilicoach Premium
The endeavor with any niche website you build is to develop an audience specifically targeted to that group of people. Or to put it another way, to build traffic to that website for the people you're targeting.

By niche program I am assuming you mean affiliate program, so this answer is based on that understanding.

You can be involved in as many affiliate programs as you like and selling multiple products / services within the one website. The products should be congruent with what your audience wants or needs.

For example, if I had a golf website, then I could be an affiliate to sell golf clubs. My audience might also be interested in golf shoes, golf balls, golf t's etc etc. These items may mean that I have to become an affiliate of multiple programs or just the one program.

Does that help?

Hey James, just wanted to pop back and see how you are doing.

I noticed that you haven't quite set-up your account yet, just wanted to let you know there is a video on how to do this if there is any confusion. Setting up your account will lead to much better help here within the community as people feel like they can connect with you better (with an image and a description)

In the meantime ...

A lot of folks ask can they make money without promoting Wealthy Affiliate and the answer is YES!

Here are a few people who are doing just that. Catch up soon.

Best,
Frank

Welcome James, to Wealthy Affiliates and thanks for accepting my invitation to check it out.

And don't forget that you can also access me for 1-on-1 support by leaving a message on my profile https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/affilicoach or by private message if you are a premium member.

There are a ton of other features you have access to right now, but they are explained in your main training linked above. Your #1 job right now is to get to lesson 1!
