Hi WA Friends!

Unbelievably, I have 5,000 wonderful WA followers who have graciously tolerated 263 posts about mostly music, although I do manage to squeeze in a helpful one now and again! Lol 😎

I belong to many medical and biomedical engineering online organizations, but WA is, by far, my favorite place to come!

Although we are expecting a big New England snowstorm this weekend, with massive power losses, I'll be celebrating with music and movies, probably on generator power.

5000, well done Frank.
Floyd's Comfortably numb brings back some really good memories from the late 70s. Oh yes. But I can't share them on a public platform, they're probably happily married now.
And Boh Rhap. The whole of the time that Bohemian Rhapsody was in the charts, I was in hospital being screwed and stitched back together. The whole time. But I had the phone numbers of some very pretty nurses for when I got out.
Keep them coming Frank, I love your taste in music and appreciate the lists.
I'll dive on to YouTube now and play a few of your selections.
Bux

Thanks, Bux! πŸ™

Yeah, such great memories of the late β€˜60s and beyond. πŸ‘

I’ve seen Floyd four times and Queen once.

I watched the whole Floyd β€œDelicate Sound Of Thunder” concert last night on Blu-ray in my home theater.

The bass guitar on the song β€œOne Of These Days” knocked a picture off the wall, so I guess I had it pretty loud. Haha 😎

Be careful (screws & stitches) and have a Rockin’ day!🀘⚑️🀘

Congrat on 5,000, Frank!

Excellent list! "Tears in Heaven" is a beautiful song by Eric Clapton.

My older sister lives in Samford, Connecticut and she's hunkering down. It seems like there's always a major snowstorm passing through that area every season.

Hope you're staying safe and warm. I know you've got plenty of entertainment!

Glad to be a part of your fan club! 🎸 🀘

Isaiah πŸ™‚

Thanks, Isaiah

Yeah, that’s an awesome Clapton song. Too bad he had cause to write it after his son died when he fell out of an apartment window.

I can’t even imagine what it’s like trying to recover from such a tragedy!

I hope your sister does not get snowed in too bad. We’re getting more than our share of snowfall in RI, too.

We’re stuck in the house with music and movies all weekend. I can think of worse ways to spend the time. Lol 😎

Always a pleasure talking music with you, Isaiah! πŸ™ πŸ‘

Nice one, Frank. Don't underestimate how much you help people with affiliate marketing, as well as connecting them to music memories.

Thanks, Catherine! πŸ™

I super appreciate that and I try to help whenever I can. 😎

I know that Frank and it is appreciated

β€œHey teachers, leave them kids alone
All in all, it's just another brick in the wall.” πŸ₯πŸ₯πŸ₯! I can still hear that song! We(hard of hearing Deaf kids at my school) used to play that song a lot during my preteens and teen years.

β€œI’ll find my way, through day and night, cuz I know I can't stay here in heaven”
Love that song my Eric Clapton my favorite song.

Another one bites the dust I remember that one from Queen

Some songs here in this post I recognize and others I don't not interested in hard rock metal song.

Anyway, I got about 6.1k followers but not all of them are here. Many are β€œnot live” left WA. So out of that, I don't know how many are gone or staying.

Thanks for sharing good memories of these songs.

Hi Brenda

Yeah, The Wall is a phenomenal album. I was living in Florence, Italy, as an exchange student when it came out. The Italians went wild! Haha

The original Wall tour was cut short by the expense of the stage setup and artistic disagreements between David Gilmour and Roger Waters.

I've tried playing Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2 in a variety of keys, but the guitar solo doesn't sound right in anything but D. David Gilmour is a musical genius!

Clapton and Brian May are also insanely good players!

Yeah, Metal is a tricky thing. I was listening to a piece by Johann Sebastian Bach yesterday and realized that if it was tuned down an octave and played on something like a Les Paul guitar through a cranked stack of Marshall amps, that it would make an awesome Metal song. Haha

Thats sounds like you to the bone! LOL πŸ˜ƒ

Hahahaha - I see you're really getting to know me, Brenda! 😎 😎

No kidding! πŸ˜‚

Scary, isn't it?! Lol

You won't meet many Rock Docs. My wife says I'm a bit of a riddle, but in a good way. God made us all a little different, right? 😎

Yes, Absolutely!

Howzit Frank , You have a great taste they're all up my street.
I must admit the only one I do not know is Steve Mai, must check him on Spotify.
Cheers
Murray

Thanks, Murray! πŸ™

Oh, you need to check out Steve Vai!
Start with this YouTube video of Steve playing his "Hydra" guitar!
https://youtu.be/46qjDJ0lLdE?si=ElK5VuvCPpwEpw-W

If you've seen the movie "Crossroads," with Ralph Macchio, Steve plays the Devil's guitarist in the head-cutting contest (he plays the song "Bad Horsie")! A great movie, if you missed it!

Howwzit Frank , just watched the Video. Never seen any like that before, are they Lead ,Base and Rythm guitars all in one, and just at the end I noticed the strings at the bottom, where do they fit in? Boy can he play? I will look more up. Thanks for that Frank.

Murray

The Hydra guitar necks are 7-string, 12-string that’s fretless halfway up, and bass that’s fretless on the lower strings.

So, yes it gives him the opportunity to play, rhythm, lead and bass parts.

The strings at the bottom of the guitar are sympathetic strings for playing open drone notes, analogous to what you would hear on a bagpipe. 😎

Frank 🎸

Howzit Frank,
I have just looked up the Hydra Guitar only introduced in 2022 as they say most excessive Guitar ever made.
Now I know why i have not heard of this Beast of a Guitar.
Just Watched the Teeth of the Hydra again ,and I see a lot more and hear a lot more going on, incredible Guitar Mastery.
Listening to it while I am typing.

Cheers
Murray

Hi, Murray

Yeah, Ibanez custom made that guitar for Steve and he only uses it onstage for one or two songs.

His go-to guitars are his Ibanez signature Jem 777 and Pia models.

Steve and Eric Johnson both took guitar lessons from Joe Satriani.

Steve is also a graduate of the Berkeley College of Music.

Check out s few of Steve’s live concerts on YouTube and you’ll be amazed! 😎

I thoroughly enjoy listening to these famous songs, even though I may not be proficient at singing English songs.

That's excellent, Jim! πŸ‘

I can't really sing, either, so I play guitar. Lol 😎

I believe you must be quite skilled at singing, especially if you play the guitar. On a related note, my daughter is majoring in piano at a music college.

Haha, not at all, Jim. I couldn't sing to save my life! πŸ˜‚

That's an excellent opportunity for your daughter! πŸ‘πŸ‘

I began as a music major in college and ended up graduating with a bachelor's degree in Chemistry! I still can't figure out how that happened! Lol πŸ™ƒ

Frank 🎸

Way to go, Frank!

Our musical tastes are almost identical!

Cheers to your 5K followers!

Tim

Thanks, Tim

Haha, You're a guy with impeccable taste in music! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸŽΆ

I did have the privilege of seeing Steve Vai on the Generation Axe tour a few years ago.

And I've seen Joe Satriani a few times as well. I'm hoping to see Joe with one of my all time favorites, Sammy Hagar this summer.

Oh boy, I could talk music for days!

Hi Tim

I saw Steve, Joe, and Yngwie Malmsteen on a G3 tour, which was incredible!

Great talking music with you! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ˜Ž
