The curving factor πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‹πŸ₯΄

A tale about curves and their consequences for better and for worse

Once, in the bustling city of Dataopolis, there were two curves that lived side by side, yet worlds apart. The first was a sneaky, unpredictable curve named COVID-19, who thrived on close encounters and disliked soap as much as cats dislike water. The second curve was a digital native, born in the vast plains of the Internet, known as the Google Update Curve. Unlike its viral neighbor, this curve loved algorithms and had a passion for reshaping the digital landscape, often leaving chaos in its wake for many who depended on it.

As fate would have it, both curves found themselves in the spotlight, causing the citizens of Dataopolis to scramble in an effort to flatten or highen them. The city council, composed of the wise and technologically savvy, devised a two-pronged plan. For the COVID-19 curve, they introduced masks that were so stylish even the fashionistas of Dataopolis couldn't resist. Hand sanitizers became the new perfume, and social distancing was enforced.

For the Google Update Curve, the council called upon the SEO Wizards, a group of individuals so adept at deciphering algorithms that it was rumored they spoke in code. The Wizards worked tirelessly, optimizing content and building links with the precision of a cat chasing a laser pointer. They poured over analytics like ancient scholars, searching for the secret to appease the Google gods and flatten the curve that had caused so much turmoil for businesses and bloggers alike. Being a desaster for many.

...

As weeks turned into months, something miraculous happened. The COVID-19 curve, once a towering giant, began to shrink, its power waning under the relentless assault of soap, masks, and the indomitable spirit of Dataopolis' citizens. Meanwhile, the Google Update Curve, once as unpredictable as the weather in spring, started to flatten, much to the relief of the SEO Wizards and the digital denizens of Dataopolis.

In the end, both curves were tamed, not by fear or panic, but by unity, ingenuity, and the relentless pursuit of balance. The citizens of Dataopolis learned that no curve, be it viral or digital, could stand in the way of their determination. They celebrated their victory with a grand virtual party, where avatars danced and emojis flew through the digital air like confetti.

And so, the tale of the two curves became a legend in Dataopolis, a reminder that when faced with challenges, whether they come from nature or from the digital ether, the spirit of collaboration and innovation can restore any curve. And though the journey was fraught with uncertainty and countless Google updates, the people of Dataopolis lived happily ever after, or at least until the next algorithm change. πŸŽ‰πŸ“‰πŸ–₯️😷

The illustration capturies the essence of people working together to both raise and flatten the curve, each group pushing in their direction but united in their effort. It's a colorful and positive depiction of community and shared goals.

I think the lesson here is different from covid. The answer is to diversify. The people who are doing well are either writing content that google likes, or have multiple streams of traffic so that the loss of Google's traffic is a bump rather than a crash.

Until the dust settles, we have no idea how to or whether we even need to "appease the google gods".

You are absolutely right!

Ps
The good news?
All my google 'curbes' are going up again

And yes it has been a financial disaster for many. Just like covid -19.

Another big difference between Covid and Google is that when Covid hit, the government jumped in and provided benefits to keep people going. At least here and I think in Europe too. Also, people who lost their jobs, were able to find amazing jobs remotely (at least here). The cost of living in silicon valley is ridiculous, but people were able to work for apple at apple salaries and live in little farming towns in middle America.

Google on the other hand there really isn't anything compensating for it. But I HAVE noticed a lot of youtubers who have a big following and all they do is complain!!! And they are making $$$ from it LOL

You are so right for covid!

As for 'goggle': We should all join and claim compensations indeed!

The dictatures disguised as virus and bugs.
Not lol, not lol at all.
