Do You Remember To Laugh?
Last Update: Jan 27, 2023
"Laughter is the shortest distance between two people." — Victor Borge
If you truly want to help people, then, if you can, create causes for laughter. You will find your person in need responds in a positive way. If the person is feeling low, that laugh may be all that's necessary to make things right again.
If you are at odds with someone, try using your sense of humor to make a positive change in the situation. For an example, read my blog titled "Septic Soliloquy", as it illustrates how laughter can truly transform a situation.
If you wish to make a point, use a funny story to illustrate. Your listener or reader will be more apt to remember your point. The same works for teaching. If you can teach information by using humor to illustrate, your student will respond positively.
Laughter uplifts and lightens the load. Laughter soothes and smooths. Laughter creates a bond of good will. Here's a bonus quote from Mark Twain: "Against an assault of laughter, nothing can stand."
Heal hurts and heavy clouds of despair by causing laughter to sweep all negativity away. Laughter can become the vocal sound of love.

Hi Fran, I agree. My late Dad always said, "laughter is the best medicine." When I was very sick as a child. My Dad would always act out and make funny expressions and tell funny stories that made me laugh. It worked because it made me feel better. I healed faster with laughter. It does uplift out physical and emotional health. thanks for sharing this. If I need to laugh, just find a comedy show or a funny movie usually that works when I am alone and feeling down.
Your dad was wise. What a good way to help you heal!
YouTube is a great source for finding something to make us smile or laugh. There are some very funny videos on there.

Love this post Fran!
Laughter is the best medicine. And humour is a great way to communicate.
As for Victor Borge - He had a smiling and funny face too in addition to be a standup comedian.
Unluckily I do not. Lol. I look dead serious if I do not smile or laugh. Have to keep reminding myself to smile.
It's not always easy to find the humour in a situation, but it's important to try.
