I can hardly believe it. I made $1.20!
I hesitated to post this, not because of the amount, but because I didn't want to jinx my good fortune. (Returns are possible after all.) I awoke today to find genuine clicks on my website and, even more incredibly, a 6% commission on a single item! Although I suspect the purchase was made by a friend or relative in my close circle, it feels great to know someone actually read my content and that affiliate links work!
I have read other WA members' blog posts about their first commission and loved seeing how excited they became at the smallest amount. I always wondered how long it would be before I would experience the same feeling. I am beyond thrilled to be part of their club! It is so true that you will never forget your first commission sale. It is as significant as a first kiss, your wedding day, the day your children were born... Really!
There is nothing like a single sale to prove that affiliate marketing works. It is a wonderful validation of your hard work. Given the ups and downs associated with this type of business, I certainly needed the boost to keep going. I have no idea how long it will take for me to achieve the results I want, but I am no longer scared about "wasting" time. Slow but steady wins the race. If I wasn't convinced before, I certainly am now.
I write this post in hopes that it gives others confidence, inspiration, and some validation that they are on the right path. This is not a scam. This is real. Keep working through the top-notch lessons on WA, take the time to apply them, and continue learning through others. You are the only one standing in your way, but you are also the only one who can make success happen for you.
Good luck to all. Keep your spirits up. Believe it can happen. Visualize your success. It will happen. Happy, healthy affiliate marketing!

A $1.20 is better than a "kick in the pants" so they say. Even if it was a friend, you put together a system that allowed that friend to show you a kindness that would have been impossible without your website. If your friend could find your site others can too. Try and find out who the friend was...thank them...then pick their brain as to the quality of your site and the ease they found or didn't find in using the site. DAN
Thank you, Dan. Great advice! I don't know how to track the kind person down, but I am hoping the confession will soon come to me.
Good luck with your website Fit4Twins. DAN
